Abstract

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a device for mounting an article, in particular of jewelry, on a support and a method for assembling such a device on such a support.

The invention also relates to an assembly and a range provided with such a device.

In particular, it may be a mounting device of the kitten type, configured to be secured to a support of the type of leather goods or even an article of jewelry and to mount a gem there, for example.

TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND There are known mounting devices of the chaton type, provided with a base secured to a portion of material of an article of leather goods or else to any frame, and with a gem directly introduced, for example by crimping into a cavity in the base.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The invention aims to provide an assembly device of a similar type, which is particularly simple and convenient both in manufacture and in use.

The invention thus relates, in a first aspect, to a device for mounting at least one article, in particular of jewelry, on a support, comprising a base provided with a first orifice and configured to be secured with said support, characterized in that said device further comprises an intermediate support provided with at least one second orifice provided to receive said at least article and configured to be housed at least partially in said first orifice of said base and mechanically secured with said base.

The mounting device according to the invention is a device of the kitten type.

The use of an intermediate support secured to the base and which receives the article, in particular of jewelry, is particularly convenient since it is possible to provide a modular device, with modules chosen according to the size of the article.

In particular, it is possible to adapt the intermediate support to the size and shape of the article.

Thus, it can also be provided a range having several modules, including for example a single base on which can be mounted a plurality of separate intermediate supports, or only a few bases on which can be mounted a multitude of separate intermediate supports. .

It will be noted that the intermediate support can be removable and therefore can be changed.

According to other particularly simple, convenient and economical preferred features of the mounting device according to the invention: said base comprises a cylindrical body extending generally longitudinally, said first orifice being formed inside said cylindrical body, and said cylindrical body. intermediate support comprises at least one securing member configured to engage in said cylindrical body; - said base comprises a collar extending transversely to said cylindrical body and said intermediate support comprises an annular body or a top wall, from which protrudes said at least one securing member and in which said at least one second orifice is formed; said cylindrical body of said base has an internal wall which delimits an internal space of said first orifice and which is provided so that said internal space of said first orifice narrows between a first side and a second side of said base, up to a portion beyond which said internal wall widens; said at least one securing member is formed by an elastic latching tab provided with an outer face and a protrusion which projects from said outer face, said protuberance being configured to go beyond said portion of said inner wall of said cylindrical body of said base, toward said second side of said base, and to hook onto a shoulder formed in said inner wall beyond said portion; and / or - said intermediate support is provided with an outer wall having an outer shoulder resting against a free edge of said cylindrical body of said base, and having an outer portion which is located in line with an outer wall of said body cylindrical of said base or which extends beyond said outer wall of said cylindrical body of said base and overhanging.

The invention also relates, in a second aspect, to an assembly comprising a mounting device as described above, a said support on which is secured said base of said mounting device, and at least one said article introduced. and secured in said at least a second orifice of said intermediate support of said mounting device.

The invention also relates, in a third aspect, to a range comprising at least one said base of a mounting device as described above and a plurality of distinct intermediate supports, having second different orifices which are designed to accommodate items of different sizes.

Finally, a fourth aspect of the invention relates to a method for assembling a mounting device as described above, of at least one article, in particular of jewelry, on a support, comprising the steps: - mechanically securing said base of said mounting device on said support; - mechanically securing said at least article in said at least one second orifice of said intermediate support of said mounting device; 20 and - to house said intermediate support at least partially in said first orifice of said base and to mechanically secure it with the latter.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EXAMPLE OF EMBODIMENT Figure 1 shows a mounting device, also called a kitten, which is provided with a base 1 and an intermediate support 2.

The kitten can also include one or more articles 3, for example jewelry, mounted in the intermediate support 2.

Here, article 3 is for example formed by a gem.

Fig. 1 also shows a support formed here by two pieces, shown only partially, of an article of leather goods.

This is a first portion of material 4 and a second portion of material 5, forming for example two distinct thicknesses of this article of leather goods and which are intended to be firmly secured to one another.

In particular, the first portion of material 4 may here comprise a through hole 6 opening out on either side of a first upper face 8 and of a first lower face 9 of this first portion of material 4.

The through hole 6 has a first contour 7, which is for example circular.

The first upper face 8 is located opposite the first lower face 9.

5 The second portion of material 5 may here include a blind hole 10 opening onto a second upper face 12 and having a bottom 24.

The blind hole 10 does not lead to a second lower face 13 of this second portion of material 5, which is located opposite the second lower face 13.

The blind hole 10 has a second contour 11, which is for example circular.

The base 1 of the kitten may be generally formed of a cylindrical body 14 extending longitudinally and a flange 15 extending transversely to the cylindrical body 14.

The base 1 is provided with an orifice 22, also called the first orifice, which opens out from the cylindrical body 14 on a first side of the base 1.

Here the orifice 22 is through so that it also emerges from the collar 15, on a second side of the base 1 opposite to the first side.

The intermediate support 2 of the kitten can be generally formed by an annular body 16 from which the securing members 17 protrude.

These securing members 17 are for example formed by resilient latching tabs which here extend longitudinally.

The intermediate support 2 is provided with a through orifice 23, also called a second orifice, which opens out on either side of the annular body 16.

The gem 3 is here cut and may have a free upper face 18, lateral facets 19 extending from the free upper face 18, an edge 20 joining each lateral facet 19, and lower faces 21 extending from the edge 20. opposite the lateral facets 19.

This orifice 22 defines an internal space which is delimited by an internal wall 25 of the cylindrical body 14.

The internal wall 25 has, at the level of the first side of the base 1, a first portion 26 which may for example be straight.

The internal wall 25 has a second portion 27 which may for example be inclined.

The second portion 27 is connected to the first portion 26 by means of a first shoulder 28 of the internal wall 25.

The second portion 27 extends from the first shoulder 28 towards the second side of the base 1, opposite the first portion 26.

The second portion 27 narrows the internal space of the orifice 22.

The internal wall 25 has a third portion 29 which may for example be inclined and the inclination of which may be less than that of the second portion 27.

The third portion 29 extends from the second portion 27 to the second side of the base 1, opposite to the first portion 26.

The third portion 29 further narrows the internal space of the orifice 25 22.

The internal wall 25 has a fourth portion 30 which may for example be inclined and the inclination of which may be greater than that of the third portion 29 and substantially equal to that of the second portion 27.

The fourth portion 30 extends from the third portion 29 towards the second side of the base 1, opposite to the first portion 26.

The fourth portion 30 further narrows the internal space of the orifice 22.

7 The internal wall 25 has a fifth portion 31 which may for example be straight.

The fifth portion 31 extends from the fourth portion 30 to the second side of the base 1, opposite to the first portion 26.

The internal wall 25 has, at the level of the second side of the base 1, a sixth portion 32 which may for example be straight.

The sixth portion 32 is connected to the fifth portion 31 by means of a second shoulder 33 of the internal wall 25.

Sixth portion 32 extends from second shoulder 33 opposite to first portion 26.

The sixth portion 32 widens the internal space of the orifice 22 at the level of the second side of the base 1.

The internal space of the orifice 22 of the base 1 is thus stepped, with the first portion 26, the fifth portion 31 and the sixth portion 32 having distinct internal diameters.

Here, the diameter of the sixth portion 32 is greater than that of the first portion 26, which is greater than that of the fifth portion 31.

The widest part of the internal space of the orifice 22 is therefore located at the level of the sixth portion 32 and the narrowest part is located at the level 20 of the fifth portion 31.

The cylindrical body 14 of the base 1 has an outer wall 34 extending generally longitudinally.

The collar 15 of the base 1 has an upper wall 35 which projects from the outer wall 34 and which extends generally transversely to the latter.

The flange 15 has a side wall 36 forming a portion of the flange 15, and which extends generally longitudinally from its top wall 35.

The flange 15 further has a lower wall 37 extending generally transversely of its side wall 36 and into which the orifice 22 of the base 1 opens on its second side.

8 In the example illustrated in FIG. 2, the base 1 is introduced into a housing formed by the through hole 6 formed in the first portion of material 4 of the support and by the blind hole 10 formed in the second portion of material 5 of the support.

The side wall 36 of the flange 15 may be facing and substantially in contact with the second contour 11 of the blind hole 10.

The outer wall 34 of the cylindrical body 14 of the base 1 may be facing and substantially in contact with the first contour 7 of the through hole 6.

The base 1 is thus secured with the support formed of the first and second portions of material 4 and 5.

It will be noted that the cylindrical body 14 has a free edge 38 at the level of the first side of the base 1 which protrudes slightly from the first portion 25 of material 4 of the support, beyond its first upper face 8.

As illustrated in Figures 3 and 4, the annular body 16 of the intermediate support 2 of the kitten has an outer wall 51 extending generally longitudinally, as well as an inner wall 52 which delimits an internal space of the orifice 23 provided in this intermediate support 2 and which also extends generally longitudinally.

The orifice 23 has an outline which here has a generally circular section.

The internal wall 52 has, at the level of a first side of the intermediate support 2, a first internal portion 48 which can be for example straight, as well as a second internal portion 50 which can also be for example straight.

The second internal portion 50 is connected to the first internal portion 48 via an internal shoulder 49.

The second internal portion 50 extends from the internal shoulder 49 towards a second side of the intermediate support 2, opposite the first internal portion 48.

The second internal portion 50 narrows the internal space of the orifice 23.

The outer wall 51 has, at the level of the first side of the intermediate support 2, a first outer portion 39 which may for example be straight.

The outer wall 51 has a second outer portion 40 which may for example comprise a straight section extended by an inclined section.

The second outer portion 40 is connected to the first outer portion 39 via an outer shoulder 41.

The second outer portion 40 extends from the outer shoulder 41 to the second side of the base 1, opposite the first outer portion 39.

The outer wall 51 has a third outer portion 42 which may for example have the shape of a fillet formed in the annular body 16.

The third external portion 42 ends with an edge 43 in the extension of the fillet and from which protrude several elastic snap-fastening tabs 17.

These resilient latching tabs 17 are each provided with an outer face 44 which extends in the extension of the third outer portion 42 of the outer wall 51, and with an inner face 45 opposite to the outer face 44 and which extends in the extension of the second internal portion 50 of the internal wall 52.

These resilient latching tabs 17 are each provided with an end edge 46 located opposite the third outer portion 42 of the outer wall 51 and the second inner portion 50 of the inner wall 52.

These elastic snap tabs 17 each have a protuberance 47 which protrudes from the respective outer faces 44.

These protrusions 47 extend substantially in an inclined manner, from the respective end edges 46 towards the annular body 16.

As also illustrated in Figures 3 and 4, the gemstone 3 is introduced into the orifice 23 of the intermediate support 2 and secured therewith.

In particular, the side facets 19 and the edge 20 are located substantially opposite the first internal portion 48 of the internal wall 52 of the annular body 16, the lower faces 21 rest on the internal shoulder 49 of this internal wall 52 and s 'extend substantially opposite the second internal portion 50 of this internal wall 52 and also partially opposite the internal faces 45 of the elastic latching tabs 17.

The edge 20 of the gem can for example come into contact, in several places, with the first internal portion 48 of the internal wall 52 for the securing of the gem in the intermediate support 2.

Figures 5 and 6 illustrate the intermediate support 2 with the gem 3 which are introduced into the orifice 22 of the base 1 and secured with the latter, itself secured with the support formed of the first and second portions of material 4 and 5.

In particular, in Figure 5 the first portion of material 4 is not visible to allow viewing the base 1 while in Figure 6, the sectional view shows the first portion of material 4.

It will be noted that the free upper face 18 and the lateral facets 19 are visible.

11 The outer shoulder 41 of the outer wall 51 of the annular body 16 of the intermediate support 2 bears against the free edge 38 of the cylindrical body 14, projecting relative to the first upper face 8 of the first portion of material 4 of the support.

5 The first outer portion 39 of the outer wall 51 is located in line with the outer wall 34 of the cylindrical body 14 of the base 1.

Thus, the elastic latching tabs 17 are hooked onto the cylindrical body 14 so that the intermediate support 2, and therefore also the gem 3, are secured with the base 1.

It will be noted that the elastic snap-fastening tabs 17 undergo bending when they are introduced into the orifice 22 of the base 1.

In particular, the protuberances 47 slide against the inner wall 25 of the cylindrical body 14 which narrows so that the resilient latching tabs 17 flex, tightening one another, until the protuberances 47 pass through it. beyond the fifth portion 31 of the internal wall 25, where the elastic latching tabs 17 then move apart and the protuberances 47 come to hook on the second shoulder 33 of the internal wall 25.

FIG. 7 illustrates an alternative embodiment where the support is provided with only a single portion of material, which will be assimilated here to the first portion of material 4 described above.

The base 1 and the intermediate support 2 of the kitten are identical to those described above with reference to Figures 1 to 6 and the kitten therefore differs from that illustrated in these figures in that the base 1 is subject only to the first portion of material 4 by the upper wall 35 of the collar 15 which is fixed with the first lower face 9 of this first portion of material 4.

In other words, the side wall 36 and the bottom wall 37 are free and in engagement with no portion of the support.

It will be noted that in the example described, it is possible to have access to the orifice 22 of the base 1 and therefore to the elastic latching tabs 17, thus facilitating the extraction of the intermediate support 2 and therefore of the gem. 3.

In a variant that is not illustrated, the orifice in the base may be blind so as not to have access to the elastic latching tabs 17 of the intermediate support 2.

Figures 8 and 9, respectively Figures 10 and 11, show two other alternative embodiments where the intermediate support 102, 202 has a shape different from that described with reference to the previous figures.

The base 1 is for its part identical to that described with reference to the preceding figures.

The securing of the intermediate supports 102, 202 on the base 1 is therefore similar to that of the intermediate support 2 on the base 1.

In these figures, the kitten is shown alone, without the support on which it is mounted.

The intermediate support 102 illustrated in Figures 8 and 9 differs from the intermediate support 2 in that it does not have an annular body, which is replaced by a top wall 160.

The top wall 160 is provided with a plurality of orifices 161 which may, for example, have different diameters and therefore form housings of different volumes, so as to be able to accommodate gems 103 of different sizes.

These orifices 161 can be through or else blind.

Note that the top wall 160 is provided with an outer wall 151 which has a first outer portion 139 which is located in line with the outer wall 34 of the cylindrical body 14 of the base 1.

The intermediate support 202 illustrated in Figures 10 and 11 differs from the intermediate support 102 simply in that the top wall 260 has a larger area than that of the top wall 160.

The top wall 260 therefore has more orifices 261 and thus accommodates more gems 203.

Unlike the intermediate supports 2 and 102, the top wall 260 is provided with an outer wall 251 which has a first outer portion 239 which is not in line with the outer wall 34 of the cylindrical body 14 of the base. 1, but rather which extends beyond this outer wall 34, overhanging the upper wall 35 of the collar 15.

The description given above of the different embodiments illustrated shows that the use of an intermediate support secured to the base and which receives the gem (s) is particularly practical since it is possible to provide a range having several modules, including for example a single base on which can be mounted a plurality of separate intermediate supports, or only a few bases on which can be mounted a multitude of separate intermediate supports.

The intermediate supports can furthermore be removable and therefore can be changed.

In addition, the use of a single base or of only a few bases, called standard bases because they can be adapted to several formats of intermediate supports, can simplify the manufacture of the article on which the so-called modular kitten is intended to be mounted, since the base can first be secured to the support, then the intermediate support and the associated gem (s) can be selected and subsequently mounted on the base.
