Abstract

The invention relates to a device for storing and eliminating algae in the open sea on the assumption that algae deprived of light die and decompose.

Description

DescriptionDescription

End of title: Device for storing and eliminating algae in the open sea The present invention relates to a device for collecting, storing and eliminating algae in the sea.

Current devices are content to collect these algae, bring them back to the ground and eliminate them by destroying them in various ways: destruction by fire, burial. . .etc, or to transform them into fertilizer or equivalent by rinsing them and drying them for example, which consumes an enormous quantity of fresh water and considerable surfaces of storage, without counting the inconveniences due to the odors and the release toxic gases and the presence of heavy metals in these algae.

The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. It is a question of collecting algae, of storing and eliminating them in a perfectly natural way: one places and one piled up the algae in a park, resembling the parks or cages with fish used in aquaculture and placed in full sea. These parks will be immobilized relative to the sea bottom by all appropriate means. The collection of algae can be done by all possible means, for example by a trawler which, after collection, would open the pocket of the net above the park or using a barge on which the algae will be deposited then transferred to the park. These parks, closed on the sides by nets or equivalent of a sufficient height, will have no bottom and the accumulation of algae in the park will deprive light those located in the lower part of the par: these, needing light to develop and reproduce, will die, decompose and disperse at the bottom of the sea.

[0004] Les dessins annexés illustrent l’invention :The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention:
