L'invention concerne un procédé de diagnostic d'une baisse d'étanchéité d'un cylindre de moteur à combustion interne, comprenant les étapes suivantes : détection d'un arrêt du moteur, détermination d'au moins un cylindre fermé, mesure de la pression et calcul d'un indicateur de décroissance de la pression dans ledit au moins un cylindre, comparaison de l'indicateur avec un seuil ; lorsque l'indicateur est supérieur au dit seuil, il est diagnostiqué une baisse d'étanchéité dans ledit au moins un cylindre et une alarme est déclenchée.The invention relates to a method for diagnosing a loss of tightness of an internal combustion engine cylinder, comprising the following steps: detection of an engine stop, determination of at least one closed cylinder, measurement of the pressure and calculation of a pressure decrease indicator in said at least one cylinder, comparison of the indicator with a threshold; when the indicator is above said threshold, a leak in the said at least one cylinder is diagnosed and an alarm is triggered.
