Abstract

Système de propulsion électrique pour un aéronef, comportant au moins une hélice (4, 5), un moteur électrique pour entrainer l'au moins une hélice en rotation, une source principale (1) de puissance électrique pour alimenter le moteur électrique, l'aéronef comportant un ensemble d'équipements non-propulsifs (10, 11), caractérisé en ce que le moteur électrique comporte une pluralité de moteurs électriques (2a, 2b, 3a, 3b) qui sont commandables pour fonctionner selon un premier mode dans lequel la pluralité de moteurs électriques entrainent conjointement l'au moins une hélice en rotation, et selon un second mode dans lequel au moins un moteur (2b, 3b) de la pluralité de moteurs électriques sert de générateur électrique pour alimenter l'ensemble d'équipements non-propulsifs et au moins un des autres moteurs (2a, 3a) de la pluralité de moteurs électriques entraine l'hélice en rotation.
