Procédé pour transmettre un message codé lumineux, comprenant : - une étape d'émission du message codé par un dispositif émetteur de lumière (9), le message codé étant émis sous forme d'une succession de couleurs émises pendant des intervalles de temps réguliers successifs, ledit message étant codé par des transitions entre couleurs ; - une étape de réception du message codé par un capteur de lumière (8) commandé pour capter les couleurs émises par l'émetteur de lumière au cours des intervalles de temps successifs et pour déterminer ainsi les transitions de couleurs entre intervalles de temps successifs, représentatives du message codé.
