Le dispositif (100) de surveillance d'une transmission de données comprend : - un câble (4), - au moins un capteur (13) agencé pour mesurer dans le câble au moins un paramètre relatif à une transmission de données dans le câble, - une bande (8) de sources de lumière (10), la bande s'étendant parallèlement au câble, et - des moyens de commande automatisés (12) reliés au capteur et aptes à commander séparément les sources de lumière de façon à fournir au moins un signal lumineux représentant le paramètre.
