State of the art

The support 21 and the coating 22 have the same structure as in the example presented above.

The covering 22 is dimensioned so as to perfectly match the space 25 which reserves for it once placed on the support 21.

Optionally, the support 21 as well as the covering 22 are perforated with a hole 16 through which a handle is inserted.

The piece according to the invention can be a table top. Two exemplary embodiments of a table top 3 or 4 according to the spirit of the invention are illustrated respectively in FIG. 7 and in FIG. 8.

In FIG. 7, the plate 3 comprises a covering 32 and a support 31 provided with a flat bottom wall 311. Here, the receiving element is the bottom wall 311.

The plate 3 can be simply placed on the frame 5 without the need for fixing means to the frame. To do this, the plate 3 can be designed so as to have a sufficient weight to avoid any untimely movement of the plate 3 relative to the frame 5. In this case, it is said that the plate 3 is of the "lead" type.

Alternatively or cumulatively with the previous characteristic, in order to ensure stable positioning of the plate on the frame, the support 31 comprises a means of cooperation with the frame 5. In the example illustrated in FIG. 7, the plate 3 comprises on its underside 314 a magnetized layer which adheres with a table frame of iron, sheet metal or other materials attracted by the magnetized layer.

Furthermore, in order to facilitate the positioning of the plate 3 on the frame 5, the support comprises gripping means 33.

Here, the gripping means are the cutouts 331 produced in the peripheral edge 312 of the support 31 so as to form handles 332.

In this way, a user holds the support 31 by the handles 332 and places it on the frame 5. He then covers the support 31 with the desired covering 32. Thus, the installation of the plate 3 is simple and quick to carry out.

In Figure 8, a second embodiment of the plate 4 is illustrated. In this example, the support 41 comprises a plate 411 on which a covering like that of FIG. 7 is placed. Here, the receiving element is the plate 411.

Unlike the previous example, the support 41 includes a peripheral edge 412 which extends downwards so that this edge 412 and the lower face 413 of the support 41 delimit a recess 415. This is complementary with the form of a panel 51 forming part of the table frame 5. In other words, the panel 51 is engaged in the hollow 415 of the support 41.

Once the plate 4 is placed on the frame 5, the peripheral edge 412 faces the edge 52 of the panel 5. This makes it possible to suppress any movement along the horizontal plane of the plate 4 relative to the frame. In this case, it is said that the support 41 is of the “covering” type.
