Description
The invention relates to the improvement of a sinusoidal ac magnetization electromagnet used in the context of non-destructive tests according to the magnetoscopy technique. The current state of the art offers portable ac electromagnets powered by the sinusoidal mains voltage of 110 to 230VAC frequency 50 or 60Hz. Low-voltage 42-48 VAC electromagnets with a long extension cord and powered by a heavy isolation transformer, which is connected to a standard power outlet, are available to perform, among other things, metal and thus guarantee the electrical safety of the operator. All of these electromagnets have or not articulated poles or extensions adapted to the geometry of the part to be inspected. For the sake of convenience users strongly want a battery version because the areas to be inspected are not necessarily equipped with a power source. Battery solutions are currently available but generate a continuous magnetic field that is not suitable for the detection of surface defects as required by current inspection standards. There are also battery versions using a DC / AC converter that generates AC 110 or 220V AC voltage. These solutions present a risk of electric shock for the operator because these devices are not connected to earth or equipped with a differential circuit breaker. The invention consists of a battery-operated solution equipped with a transformerless DC-AC direct current converter (DC / AC) which supplies the electromagnet with an alternating voltage of frequency between 40 and 70 Hz and with a voltage lower than 48V. The invention relates to the development of a DC / AC converter specially dedicated to this application as well as the electromagnet equipped with a suitable winding. Currently available electromagnets use a solenoid-type coil powered by AC mains voltage or via a transformer. The invention uses one or more coils fed by a full-bridge power switching electronics, commonly referred to as H-type or Push-pull driven by Pulse Width Modulated Square (PWE or PWM) signals. The cyclic ratios are parameterized so as to generate, after filtering, a strong sinusoidal magnetic field on the surface of the part to be controlled as required by the standards of controls in force (example: effective tangential magnetic field> 2KA / m for the NF standard EN ISO 9934-3). In addition to the safety of the operator, this electromagnetic device offers the advantage of optimizing power consumption, reducing the weight of the elements, increasing the autonomy of the equipment and reducing the battery voltage in standard ranges. power equipment (12-48VDC). The invention provides several embodiments:> The switching electronics may or may not be integrated into the handle of the electromagnet. > The ferromagnetic core of the clamp can serve as a heat sink for the power components. > The activation switch for the electromagnet cuts either the power or the switching electronics. > A thermal circuit breaker can be added to the power control circuit to disable the use of power as long as the equipment is too hot.
Les dessins annexés illustrent l'invention :The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention:
Figure 1 shows the overall view of the electromagnet which externally has nothing to differentiate existing electromagnets.
La figure 2 représente un exemple d'organisation interne des éléments un demi-capotage démonté.FIG. 2 represents an example of internal organization of the elements a disassembled half-casing.
Figure 3 shows the schematic diagram of the electronics.
With reference to these drawings, the electromagnet consists of a U-shaped metal core with articulated poles (3) on which is wound a solenoid (2) powered by a very low voltage alternating current by means of the electronics (1). . The switch (5) controls the operation of the electronics (1). The electronics (1) is schematized into three subassemblies, a control stage (1a), a power stage (2b) and a filter stage (3c). All of these elements are grouped in a handle (4). The power cable (6) is connected to a standard low voltage battery not shown which is generally worn on the operator's belt.
In the embodiment of FIG. 2, the U-shaped metal core (3) consists of phosphated or varnished transformer steel blades for limiting losses and eddy current heating and assembled by screwing or riveting. This metal core has articulated poles to be in perfect contact with the surface to be controlled. The solenoid (2) consists of a winding with contiguous turns of coated copper wires. The solenoid (2) completed with a LC-type low pass filter (2c) is connected to the power bridge consisting of 4 power transistors (2b). The power bridge (2b) fixed on the metal core (3) to dissipate warming is fed directly by the battery voltage Lithium-Ion and the control electronics (la). The control electronics (1a) comprises a microcontroller which generates four digital signals. Two square wave signals of frequency 50Hz phase shifted by 180 ° and two signals with 5000Hz frequency cycle modulation comprising 50 cycle variations each representing a half-sine period. These two signals are also out of phase by 180 °. The four signals are then conditioned by a dedicated circuit in the full bridge power transistor control. The microcontroller also generates a continuous signal as soon as it is stabilized at its power up, this signal is regularly updated by internal monitoring of the state of the microcontroller. This signal is disabled in the event of a problem in the microcontroller to prevent the power from generating unsuitable signals that could damage the power transistors. This signal supplies an LED to warn the operator if there is a problem. This signal also feeds the power activation switch (5) via a bimetallic strip fixed to the metal core (3). The bimetal opens at a safety temperature which inhibits the use of the time power that the temperature of the metal core is too high. The activation of the power is performed via the sleep inputs of the two control circuits of the power transistors. All these elements constitute a chain of security to ensure a long life of the electronics while ensuring total security of the user. The electromagnet according to the invention is particularly intended for non-destructive testing according to the magnetoscopy technique.
