Un dispositif (1) de positionnement pour la fixation d'une pièce d'équipement sur un élément de carrosserie, le dispositif de positionnement comprenant un gabarit (4) comportant : - un organe (11) d'indexage secondaire, coopérant avec un moyen de positionnement secondaire de la pièce d'équipement, aptes à positionner relativement le gabarit et la pièce d'équipement ; - un organe (9) d'indexage primaire, coopérant avec un moyen de positionnement tertiaire de l'élément de carrosserie, aptes à positionner relativement la pièce d'équipement et l'élément de carrosserie ; le dispositif de positionnement comprenant un contrôleur (5) de position, coopérant avec l'organe d'indexage primaire du gabarit, le contrôleur de position comportant un dispositif (14) de métrologie contrôlant la position relative de l'organe d'indexage primaire et de l'organe d'indexage secondaire du gabarit.
