Le dispositif (100) de sécurisation d'un document (125) comporte : - un moyen (120) d'entrée d'un fichier numérique représentant une image d'au moins une partie du document, - un moyen (135) d'extraction d'éléments caractéristiques de l'image et de positions des dits éléments caractéristiques sur le document, - un moyen (140) de codage d'éléments caractéristiques de l'image et de données représentatives de position des dits éléments caractéristiques sur le document, en un code matriciel et - un moyen (155) d'impression du code matriciel sur ou dans ledit document. Dans des modes de réalisation, le dispositif comporte : - un moyen (165) de détermination d'un emplacement du document ne portant pas d'information, et/ou - un moyen (165) de détermination de forme du code matriciel correspondant à l'emplacement du document ne portant pas d'information, le moyen d'impression imprimant le code matriciel à l'emplacement déterminé et selon la forme déterminée.
