L'objet de l'invention est un procédé de réglage de la position d'un cycliste C sur un vélo de route d'un banc d'essai, muni de chaussures et de pédales automatiques, comprenant une cale portée par la semelle de chaque chaussure et solidarisée par des vis et des pédales munies de moyens prévus pour coopérer avec lesdites cales afin de lier le pied aux pédales par encliquetage, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste en la succession des étapes suivantes : - mesurer la longueur du tibia/fibula droit et gauche, - compenser le différentiel éventuel au moyen d'une plaquette d'épaisseur. - mesurer l'angle d'inclinaison varus ou valgus du genou, - compenser le différentiel éventuel au moyen d'une plaquette d'inclinaison, - déterminer la position de la cheville présentant une éventuelle inversion ou éversion, - compenser par une rotation de la cale et de ses plaquettes éventuelles dans le plan de la semelle en cas d'inversion ou éversion.
