L'invention a pour objet un circuit (22) de recirculation de gaz d'échappement pour un moteur thermique (10) à essence comportant : - un échangeur thermique (50) agencé pour refroidir les gaz d'échappement qui le traversent, et - un conduit de dérivation (60) dudit échangeur thermique pour sélectivement diriger les gaz d'échappement vers le moteur (10) sans traverser l'échangeur thermique (50).
