Description

The present invention relates to a device for testing and remote use of the audio system and in particular the effects pedals for a musical instrument. At present, testing or testing these guitar effect pedals is usually done in the shop by plugging a guitar on the audio input of the pedal and an amplifier on the output. The object of the present invention is therefore to deport the audio signal of the instrument to the audio input of the effect pedal located in a computer room connected to the Internet. The interest is to be able to try all the effect pedals present in this computer room from any computer equipped with an internet connection.

It is not a question of simulating the audio rendering of an effects pedal but of getting the real sound generated by the effects pedal connected remotely. The device according to the invention makes it possible to remotely and in real time try the selected effect pedal without having to move from home using its personal computer. The tested hardware may be any audio device having an audio input and output. For this purpose the global device is composed of several parts: - A first part dedicated to the routing of the audio signal of the instrument connected to the computer to the central distribution server. For this purpose, the WebRTC programming interface will be implemented within an Internet browser, another routing method for browsers that do not support WebRTC. - The second part will be responsible for directing the audio stream to the system under test selected in the Internet browser. This part will play the role of proxy capable of connecting the audio stream from the computer where the instrument is connected to the system where the audio system to be tested is connected. The third part will have the function of converting the digital audio stream into an audio signal, channeling it to the effect pedal to be tested, receiving the signal processed by this equipment, digitizing it and finally returning it to the server. that will send it back to the source computer. The choice of the effect pedal as well as the playback and listening devices will be via a web interface. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 represents the routing of the audio signal to the device under test. Figure 2 shows the details of the testing system. With reference to these drawings, the device comprises, on the user side, a personal computer 3031223 -2- (1) equipped with an audio device (2) to which the musical instrument is connected. On this computer, an internet browser embeds the Web application for selecting the pedal to be tested and the system capable of generating and receiving the audio stream of the central server (3) via a network interface (4) on the Internet network.

The system then comprises a hosted central server (3) on which is installed a proxy-type software capable of connecting the incoming and outgoing audio streams of the client stations (1) to the test box (5) selected via a web application running on the client computer. Finally, the system on which is connected the pedal to try.

This part of the system (5), detailed in FIG. 2, is composed of a mono-processor nano computer (6) on which is inserted a nano-computer compatible audio card (7) having an input (8) and an audio output (9). All installed in a box (10) to small sizes. This nano computer hosts software capable of converting the digital audio stream into an analog audio signal in real time on the audio output (9). Similarly, it converts the analog audio signal present on the audio input (8) in real time into digital audio stream to direct it to the central server (3). These two streams transit in real time between the central server (3) and the nano computer. The test box (10) is composed of a nano computer, an audio card connected to an effects pedal. The number of systems under test (5) is dependent only on the processing capacity of the central server (3). The device according to the invention is particularly intended for testing or testing, guitar effect pedals but also all types of audio system having an input and an audio output.
