L'invention concerne un système de production d'eau chaude (1) comprenant un champ photovoltaïque (CHP) constitué de cellules photovoltaïques (CP), les cellules photovoltaïques générant un courant continu (2) d'intensité variable en fonction du rayonnement solaire (R) et de la température (T) des cellules photovoltaïque, le courant continu étant dispensé à une pluralité de résistances individuelles (RI) installées dans des ballons électriques (B) de production d'eau chaude, les résistances individuelles (RI) étant connectées en réseau et constituant une résistance globale (RG), caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend : - des moyens de contrôle (3) ; - des moyens de calcul (4) d'une résistance optimale (RO) ; - des moyens de pilotage (5) pour tendre à amener la résistance globale (RG) à la valeur de la résistance optimale (RO).
