The present invention relates to a device for mechanical filtration and decantation of water loaded with sediment, to be filtered before entering a supply network. It was developed for the purpose of feeding drinking troughs for cattle that previously consumed water directly from the collected environment. It is used to filter water for the supply of other types of tanks fed by gravity, from a watercourse (river, stream) or a channel. This filtration aims at the good functioning of the network of adduction by the filtration of the sediments transported by saltation, suspension, rolling and sliding in a watercourse, but does not aim to improve the physicochemical quality of the waters passing through it. . Until now, and to the best of our knowledge, some existing devices only allow the filtration without settling outside the filter, which can induce rapid clogging of the devices and malfunctions (de-stripping) of the supply network because the rupture of the water supply. Other filters operate by cartridge and / or centrifuge system and require for some a heat pump or electric pump to "force" percolation or activate centrifugation and are therefore not energy independent. The present invention as for it allows a filtration and decantation with little resistance to water and without artificial energy, it is particularly suitable for operation by gravity. The small size of the settling filter allows its installation in streams having a width (30 cm) and a depth (20 cm) low. The size of the settling filter is calculated based on the dimensional, hydraulic and sedimentological characteristics of the installation site, as well as the flow rates taken. The sampling rates are regulated according to the flow rate of the watercourse in which the device is installed. This device is particularly suitable for sampling low flows, and may be coupled with a low-pressure constant level device market placed downstream of the adduction network. The technical solution provided by the invention lies in the fact that the filter has a cylindrical shape for a vertical location without contact with the bottom of the watercourse, so that it does not create a damming effect to the flow of water . Floating woody debris does not agglomerate against the filter and is torn from the surface by the stream. Half-circumference spooling of the housing is used to screen the current by force if the screened part is placed against the current or perpendicular to the current. A removable partition equipped with a grid or filter fabric splits the housing into two equally sized chambers and allows a second water filtration. This partition is composed of two frames whose edges are perfectly contiguous internal edges of the housing, the upper plug and the lower plug. These two frames are assembled together but are not attached to the case to be released, cleaned in the stream and reinserted in minutes. The hydrodynamic conditions inside the filter are therefore calm because of the dissipation of the turbulence of the natural current by the creping of the housing. This favors the sedimentation of sediments smaller than this spawning and having been able to penetrate into the first compartment. A bottom equipped with a 1 mm mesh grid allows the settling of the sediments of the second chamber which could cross the filtering partition because of a size smaller than the spacings of the grid or filtering textile. The size of the openings of the casings of the case, the bottom, but also the grid or the textile of the internal partition are adaptable according to the sedimentological characteristics of the watercourse and the pipe of adduction. The invention is composed of four basic components: a top plug cap, so that the housing is closed and open without screws. a casing of cilyndrical shape strung on half of its circumference. In contrast to the screened portion, an interlocking orifice or connector allows the supply pipe to be connected to the second compartment. the internal frames joined together by bolting or gluing between which is pinched a 1mm mesh grid, or any other grid or textile whose mesh is adapted to unwanted sediments in the network of adduction. The partition thus formed constitutes the separation of the two chambers by sliding and without fixing. - a lower plug interlockable, so that the housing is closed and open without screws; also screened with orifices of a size equal to or slightly greater than the vertical peening.
All materials used for the manufacture of components are stainless-in-water: polyvinyl chloride (PVC), geotextile felt, stainless steel, aluminum. This composition makes it possible to make the filter-decanter adaptable to the local characteristics of the installation site by: - The possibility of inserting another finer filtering mass of the synthetic foam type into one of the compartments in the event of a periodically heavily loaded water in elements less than 1 mm in size, - an elbow oriented at the inlet orifice of the supply pipe, making it possible to adapt the axis of the supply network to the local configurations of the installation site and to the positioning of the filter-decanter in this site, - quick bolting of the two frames together using "quick" or "butterfly" screws to interchange the grids and filtration textiles to adapt the system to local or seasonal conditions - Legs elevating the filter-decanter and allowing to place it above the area or pass through the naturally larger volumes of the coarser charges of course water; or, fixings for fixing the settling filter on a pile and at the desired height in the water column, above the bottom sediment load. The diagram in the appendix illustrates the basic elements of the invention: The housing (1) encloses two frames (2) in which is clamped a grid or a filtration textile (3) using bolts and nuts (7). ). These frames have a width equal to the inside diameter of the housing. For their maintenance, these frames can be extracted from above by removing the upper plug-in cap (5). The particles decant through the lower plug (6), the filtered water is discharged through the orifice, the elbow or flexible connection (4) With reference to this diagram, the settling filters manufactured and installed on site to date have the following characteristics: The housing (1), the top cap (5), the bottom cap (6) and the filter frames (2) have a structure of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Frames are glued or bolted together to pinch the grid or filter fabric. Frames having a width equal to the inside diameter of the housing and a height equal to the internal vertical spacing between the lower and upper plugs, the exchange of water between the two compartments is done only through the grid or the filtering textile. The grid used is an aluminum grid mesh 1 mm, it can also be PVC. On other filter settlers, the filter textile is a geotextile felt. The industrial application is made possible by the components used, it is a female plug, a cylindrical tube and a PVC frame.
The tube is screened and the lower plug, the frames cut in a PVC plate are glued or bolted together and pinch a grid of aluminum, stainless steel or other filter material such as a filter fabric or foam previously cut. The device according to the invention is particularly suitable for the filtration and decantation of water taken from a "natural" environment intended for the feeding of livestock watering troughs.
