Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hydroelectric plant operating in a closed circuit. A pipe (1) is installed vertically in a building of great height against a steep hillside or a high gantry. Water flows from bottom to top in this riser pipe, it is stored in an upper basin (2) to be sent into a downcomer (3). The waterfall thus created actuates a turbine (4) operating a generator producing electricity. The water at the outlet of the turbine is sent to a lower basin (5). From the lower basin water is sent through a pipe (6) into a large cylinder (7) and filled. This cylinder is connected at its other end to the riser pipe. A piston pushed by a hydraulic cylinder pushes the water contained in the cylinder in the upwelling pipe. An anti-return valve (8) located at the start of the riser pipe prevents the water from returning to the cylinder. The piston moves back, the cylinder fills up again, the piston moves forward and the water contained in the cylinder is raised again. An anti-return valve can be installed on the water supply pipe between the basin and the cylinder to prevent the cylinder water from partially rising towards the lower basin. The diameter of the riser pipe is much smaller in diameter than the cylinder or circulates the piston so that the weight of the water column thus reassembled does not force too much the cylinder and does not require too much power to the latter . The cylinder pushing the piston is actuated by a hydraulic motor, the hydraulic motor is coupled to an electric motor operating with the energy of the waterfall. The electricity produced by the waterfall is much higher than the electricity consumed to raise the water. This new form of producing electricity is totally ecological, and eventually find a place in the development of new energies. In a will of perfect autonomy it is possible to install solar panels which would actuate a small electric pump which will fill the upper basin with water from the lower basin, once the basin filled the opening of the valves of the upper basin will cause the commissioning of the plant without any external electrical energy making this plant completely autonomous.
