Abstract
The system (1) has a determination unit (5) for determining an operating point of an internal combustion engine (2). A vibration sensor (6) is mounted on the body of a car, to measure the vibrations produced in the car during running of the car on a road. A control unit (8) is provided to control the activation/deactivation of combustion in a cylinder as a function of the operating point and the measured vibrations. The control unit includes a comparison module (12) for comparing the vibrational energy with a threshold. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling activation/deactivation of combustion in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine of a car.
