Abstract
The present invention relates to the use, in the manufacture of a composite part made from a stack of carbon fiber reinforcement materials between which is interposed at least one layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of thermoplastic and thermosetting materials, an operation of one-off application of through forces on at least two layers constituting the stack and positioned in a similar manner in the stack, so as to successively pass through at least one reinforcing material and at least a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of thermoplastic and thermosetting materials placed in superimposed position, to improve the transverse electrical conductivity of the composite part obtained.
Description
The present invention relates to the technical field of reinforcing materials, suitable for the constitution of composite parts. More specifically, the invention relates to a use for improving the transverse electrical conductivity of the composite part obtained.
The manufacture of composite parts or articles, that is to say comprising, on the one hand, one or more reinforcements or fibrous webs and, on the other hand, a matrix which is, most often, mainly of the type thermosetting ("resin") and may include thermoplastics, may, for example, be carried out by a process called "direct" or "LCM" (of the English "Liquid Composite Molding"). A direct process is defined by the fact that one or more fibrous reinforcements are used in the "dry" state (that is to say without the final matrix), the resin or matrix, being implemented separately. for example by injection into the mold containing the fibrous reinforcements ("RTM" process, of the English Resin Transfer Molding), by infusion through the thickness of the fibrous reinforcements ("LRI" process, from "Liquid Resin Infusion "or" RFI "process, or by manual coating or impregnation by roller or brush, on each of the unitary layers of fibrous reinforcement applied successively to the shape .
For RTM, LRI or RFI processes, it is generally necessary to first make a fiber preform of the shape of the desired finished article, and then impregnate this preform with a resin. The resin is injected or infused by a differential pressure of temperature, then once all the necessary amount of resin is contained in the preform, the assembly is brought to a higher temperature to carry out the polymerization / crosslinking cycle and thus cause hardening. Composite parts used in the automotive, aeronautical or naval industry, in particular are subject to very stringent requirements, particularly in terms of mechanical properties. To save fuel, the aviation industry has replaced many metallic materials with composite materials that are lighter. In addition, numerous hydraulic flight controls are replaced by electronic controls always in the interest of weight gain. The resin which is subsequently associated, in particular by injection or infusion, with the unidirectional reinforcing plies during the production of the part may be a thermosetting resin, for example of the epoxy type. To allow a correct flow through a preform consisting of a stack of different layers of carbon fibers, this resin is, in most cases, very fluid, for example with a viscosity of the order of 50 to 200mPa. s. at the infusion / injection temperature. The major disadvantage of this type of resin is their fragility, after polymerization / crosslinking, resulting in low impact resistance of the composite parts produced. In order to solve this problem, it has been proposed in the documents of the prior art to combine the unidirectional layers of carbon fibers with resin-based intermediate layers, and especially with a nonwoven of thermoplastic fibers. Such solutions are described in particular in patent applications or patents EP1125728, US 628016, W000 / 58083, WO 2007/015706, WO 2006/121961 and US 6,503,856. The addition of this intermediate resin layer such as a non-woven material makes it possible to improve the mechanical properties of the post-impact compression test (CAI), a test commonly used to characterize the resistance of structures to impact. The Applicant has also proposed in the prior patent applications WO 2010/046609 and WO 2010/061114, particular intermediate materials comprising a layer of unidirectional fibers, in particular carbon fibers, bonded together, on each of its faces to a non-contact surface. -woven of thermoplastic fibers (also called non-woven), as well as their process of elaboration. Such composite materials consist of carbon layers and layers of thermosetting or thermoplastic material. Carbon fiber is electrically conductive unlike thermosetting or thermoplastic materials. The stack of these two materials is therefore a stack of conductive materials and insulating materials. The transverse electrical conductivity is therefore almost zero, due to the presence of resin layers. However, to dissipate the energy provided by the passage of the lightning on the fuselage or the wing (wings) and also to ensure the current return function, the transverse electrical conductivity of the composite parts used in aeronautics must be important. Fuel reserves being located in the wings of aircraft, it is essential to be able to dissipate the electrical energy and thus to have good conductivity along the axis orthogonal to the surface of the room, axis named z. In the aeronautical structure, electrical conductivity was provided until today by the material itself, which was predominantly aluminum-based. With new aircraft models incorporating more and more composite materials, most of them based on carbon, it has become essential to provide additional conductivity to ensure the functions of current feedback and lightning resistance. This conductivity is currently provided on composite parts based on carbon fibers by the local use of metal strips or braids linking the parts together. Such a solution considerably increases the mass and the cost of the composite solution, and is therefore not satisfactory. The patent application WO 2011/048340 also describes the implementation of alternating stacks alternating unidirectional web and thermoplastic nonwoven, secured by point links. In the context of the invention, the inventors have demonstrated a new means of obtaining composite parts which have satisfactory electrical conductivity, especially in the thickness of the part not parallel to the folds which constitute it, even in the where such pieces consist of a stack of reinforcing materials based on carbon fibers between which is interposed at least one layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of thermoplastic and thermosetting materials. The transverse conductivity can be defined as the inverse of the resistivity which is itself equal to the resistance multiplied by the surface and divided by the thickness of the part. In other words, the transverse conductivity is the capacity of the part to propagate and conduct the electric current within its thickness and can be measured according to the method detailed in the examples. The description which follows, with reference to the appended figures, makes it possible to better understand the invention. Figure 1 is a schematic view illustrating an embodiment of the invention. Figure 2 is a schematic view illustrating another embodiment of the invention. Figure 3 is a schematic view of a series of application points at which through forces, penetrations, or perforations are exerted. Figure 4 (overview and magnification at a perforation) is a photograph of a perforated intermediate material that can be used in the context of the invention. Figure 5 schematically shows a device for one-time application of through forces. In the context of the invention, the operation of point application of through forces corresponds to a penetration operation at different points of application or penetration. In the remainder of the description, it will be referred to indifferently as a one-shot application operation of traversing forces or a penetration operation at different points of penetration, such a step consisting in traversing at least two adjacent layers of a reinforcing material and a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material. The stack consists of layers of carbon fiber reinforcing materials and layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of such materials superimposed on each other. At least one layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of such materials is interposed between two layers of carbon fiber reinforcing materials. The layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material closest to a layer of carbon fiber reinforcing material is called a layer adjacent thereto. By adjacent layers is meant in particular two directly adjacent layers, that is to say succeeding in the stack being positioned against each other. The operation of one-off application of through forces is preferably carried out thanks to the penetration of a needle or a series of needles, which makes it possible to control the orientation of the through forces well. Nevertheless, it could very well be planned to carry out such an operation by means of an air or water jet. Of course, the member or the means used for the penetration operation is removed either after having passed through the stack or the part of the stack on which the penetration operation is carried out, or by making a one-way trip. -return. The purpose and result of this penetration is to penetrate some of the carbon fibers of a reinforcing material into the thickness of the layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both, so that, in the final piece, these carbon fibers may touch the carbon fibers of the reinforcing material on the other side of the thermoplastic or thermosetting layer, thereby increasing the transverse electrical conductivity of the final composite part obtained. This is why this operation is carried out so as to successively penetrate a layer of reinforcing material of carbon fibers and at least one layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of such materials which is close to it, in the position of superposition that the penetrated layers have in the final stack used for the manufacture of the composite part. Advantageously, the penetration step is performed so as to obtain a transverse electrical conductivity of at least 15 S / m, preferably at least 20 S / m, and preferably 60 to 300 5 / m. , for the composite part obtained. Preferably, the penetration operation is carried out in a direction transverse to the surface of the layers which are traversed. It has been found that a density of penetration points of 40000 to 250000 per square meter makes it possible to obtain results in terms of particularly satisfactory transverse electrical conductivity. The penetration operation may or may not lead to the creation of opening or perforation. According to a particular embodiment of the invention, adapted moreover to all its variant embodiments, the operation of one-off application of through-forces leaves perforations in the crossed layers. The openings created by the perforation operation will most often have, in the plane of the crossed layers, a circular section or more or less elongated, in the form of an eye or slot. The resulting perforations have, for example, a larger dimension, measured parallel to the traversed surface, in the range of 1 to 10 mm. In particular, the operation of one-time application of through-forces leads to the creation of an opening factor greater than 0 and less than or equal to 8%, and preferably from 2 to 5%. The aperture factor may be defined as the ratio of the area not occupied by the material to the total area observed, the observation of which may be made from above of the material with underwater illumination. this last. It can, for example, be measured according to the method described in application WO2011 / 086266. The step-by-step application of through forces is preferably accompanied by heating resulting in the at least partial melting of the thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of the two, at the points of application of the through efforts. Preferably, this melting takes place on all the crossed layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both. For this purpose, for example, a penetration member which is itself heated will be used. Such an operation makes it possible in particular to perform welds and thus fix the perforations, so that the latter remain, even after removal of the member or the penetration means used to apply the through force. In the absence of such heating, the reinforcing material and the layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both may tend to tighten around the point of penetration, after removal of the organ or medium. penetration used, so that the opening factor obtained could then match that present before the penetration operation. The penetration operation can be carried out on the already constituted stack or on intermediate materials which will then be stacked to form the stack necessary for producing the composite part. In the first case, the penetration operation will be carried out so as to cross, at each point of penetration, the total thickness of the stack. Before the one-shot application of through-forces, the different constituent layers of the stack may simply be deposited on one another, without being connected to one another, or some or all of the constituent layers of the stacking can be linked together, for example, by a heat sealing, sewing or other operation. When intermediate materials are used, the penetration operation can be carried out on the intermediate materials prior to stacking them or on the already formed stack.
If the penetration operation is performed on the intermediate materials, such an operation is preferably carried out on each intermediate material which will be superimposed in the stack and / or, so as to pass through, at each point of penetration, the total thickness of each intermediate material. Of course, a sufficient voltage, in particular from 1 × 10 -3 to 2 × 10 -2 N / mm 2, will be applied in particular to the intermediate material, most of the time running, during the penetration operation, so as to allow the introduction of the medium. or the chosen penetrating organ. The penetration points do not have to be superimposed when stacking the intermediate materials. According to a preferred embodiment in the context of the invention, it is possible to carry out stacking by superposition of intermediate materials consisting of a reinforcing material based on carbon fibers, associated on at least one of its faces. to a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both. Such an intermediate material may consist of a reinforcing material based on carbon fibers, associated on one of its faces, or on each of its faces, with a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of the two . Such intermediate materials have their own cohesion, the one or both layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both being associated with the reinforcing material, preferably due to the thermoplastic or thermosetting nature of the layer by thermocompression . A single layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both may be located between two consecutive carbon fiber backing materials. In this case, the stack may correspond to a sequence (CM / R) ", CM denoting a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of the two, R a reinforcing material based on carbon fibers and n denoting a whole number, with, in particular, all the layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of the two present in the stack which are of identical grammage. The stacking can also correspond to a sequence (CM / R) / CM, CM designating a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both, R a reinforcing material based on carbon fibers and n denoting an integer, with, in particular, the outer layers of material thermoplastic or thermosetting or a mixture of the two which have a grammage equal to the half-weight of each of the inner layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both. the invention with such a stack in the case where the operation of point application of through forces is performed on the stack after its constitution. The application WO 2011/048340 describes such stacks consisting of an alternation of unidirectional sheets of carbon, and nonwovens of thermoplastic fibers which are subjected to a penetration / perforation operation. This patent application may be referred to for further details. Nevertheless, while in the invention, the penetration or perforation operation is performed to improve the transverse conductivity of the final composite part obtained, in this patent application, it is used to improve the permeability of the stack during the production of the composite part implementing a resin diffusion within the stack. It is also possible for two layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of the two to be located between two reinforcing materials based on consecutive carbon fibers. This is the case, in particular, when the stack is made by superposing intermediate materials consisting of a reinforcing material based on carbon fibers, associated on each of its faces, with a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both. FIG. 2 illustrates the invention in the case where a stack is made from a reinforcing material R based on carbon fibers, associated on each of its faces with a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting CM material or a mixture of the two, having undergone prior to its stacking, the operation of one-off application of through forces. In the case where the reinforcement material is a unidirectional sheet, the penetration points will preferably be arranged so as to form, for example an array of parallel lines, and will advantageously be arranged on two series Si and 52 lines, so that: In each series Si and S2, the lines are parallel to each other, The lines of a series Si are perpendicular to the direction A unidirectional fibers of the carbon web. The lines of the two series Si and S2 are intersecting and form between them an angle a different from 900, and in particular, of the order of 50 to 85 ° which is approximately 60 ° in the example illustrated in FIG. Such a configuration is illustrated in FIG. 3. Since at penetration points 10, the penetration of an organ such as a needle does not lead to the formation of a hole, but rather to a slot such as Figure 4 shows that as the carbon fibers move apart from each other at the point of penetration, the slots are shifted relative to one another. This avoids the creation of an excessive opening due to the meeting of two slots too close to each other. The application WO 2010/046609 describes such intermediate materials having undergone a prior penetration / perforation operation, consisting of a unidirectional sheet of carbon, associated on each of its faces with a nonwoven of thermoplastic fibers. Reference may be made to this patent application for further details, since it describes in detail an intermediate material and a method of manufacturing composite parts that can be used in the context of the invention. Again, in this patent application, the penetration or perforation operation was performed to improve the permeability of the stack during the production of the composite part. In the context of the invention, such an operation is used to improve the transverse conductivity of the final composite part obtained. Such an improvement is highlighted in the examples that follow.
In the context of the invention, whatever the implementation variant, the operation of point application of through forces will be carried out by any suitable means of penetration, preferably automated, and in particular through a series of needles, pins or other. The diameter of the needles (in the regular part after the tip) will be especially 0.8 to 2.4mm. The points of application will be, most often spaced from 5 to 2 MM. Heating is most often carried out at the level of the penetrating means or around the latter, so as to freeze the opening made within the crossed areas and thus obtain a perforation. A heating resistor may, for example, be directly integrated into the penetration means, needle-like. A melting of the thermoplastic material or a partial or complete polymerization thus occurs in the case of a thermosetting material around the penetration means, and this on all the layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of the two crossings, which leads, after cooling, to a drceillet kind around the perforation. When removing the penetrating means, the cooling is instantaneous, which makes it possible to freeze the perforation obtained. Preferably, the heating means is directly integrated with the penetrating means, so that the penetrating means is itself heated. During the penetration, the intermediate material or the stack may abut on a surface which can then be heated locally around the penetration means, in order to achieve localized heating around the latter or, on the contrary, be completely isolated, so as to avoid softening the layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of the two closest on their entire surface. Figure 5 shows a heating / penetrating means equipped with a set of needles aligned in accordance with selected lines of penetration and spacing. The stack used in the context of the invention may comprise a large number of reinforcement materials, generally at least four and in some cases more than 100 or even more than 200. The stacking will preferably be consisting solely of carbon fiber reinforcing materials and layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of thermoplastic and thermosetting materials. Preferably, the carbon fiber reinforcing materials present in the stack will all be identical and the layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of thermoplastic and thermosetting materials will also all be identical. In the context of the invention, whatever the variant embodiment, the reinforcement materials made of carbon fibers used for the production of the stack are preferably unidirectional sheets of carbon fibers. Although these possibilities are not preferred, fabric-type, sewn or non-woven (mat type) reinforcing materials could be used. In the context of the invention, the term "unidirectional sheet of carbon fibers" means a layer consisting exclusively or almost exclusively of carbon fibers deposited in the same direction, so as to extend substantially parallel to the to each other. In particular, according to a particular embodiment of the invention, the unidirectional web comprises no weft yarn intermingling the carbon fibers, nor even sewing which would aim to give a cohesion to the unidirectional web before it is stacked. or its combination with a layer of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both. This makes it possible in particular to avoid any ripple within the unidirectional layer. In the unidirectional layer, the carbon threads are preferably not associated with a polynomeric binder and therefore called dry, that is to say that they are not impregnated, coated or associated with any binder polymeric before their association with the intermediate layers. Carbon fibers are, however, most often characterized by a mass content of standard size that can represent at most 2% of their mass. This is particularly suitable for the production of composite parts by resin diffusion, according to the direct methods well known to those skilled in the art. The constituent fibers of the unidirectional sheets are preferably continuous. The unidirectional webs may consist of one or, preferably, several carbon threads. A carbon yarn consists of a set of filaments and generally has from 1,000 to 80,000 filaments, preferably from 12,000 to 24,000 filaments. In a particularly preferred manner, in the context of the invention, carbon threads of 1 to 24 K, for example 3K, 6K, 12K or 24K, and preferably 12 and 24K, are used. For example, the carbon threads present in the unidirectional sheets have a title of 60 to 3800 Tex, and preferably 400 to 900 tex. The unidirectional sheet can be made with any type of carbon son, for example, High Strength (HR) son whose tensile modulus is between 220 and 241GPa and whose tensile strength is between 3450 and 4830 MPa , Intermediate Module (1M) wires whose tensile modulus is between 290 and 297GPa and whose tensile breaking stress is between 3450 and 6200MPa and High Module Wires (HM) whose tensile modulus is included between 345 and 448GPa and whose tensile break stress is between 3450 and 5520Pa (from the ASM Handbook, ISBN 0-87170-703-9, ASM International 2001). In the context of the invention, whatever the implementation variant, the stack is preferably composed of several layers of unidirectional carbon fibers, as reinforcing materials, with at least two layers of unidirectional carbon fibers extending in different directions. All unidirectional layers can have different directions or only some of them. Otherwise, apart from their differences in orientation, the unidirectional sheets will preferably have identical characteristics. The preferred orientations are most often, those making an angle of 0 °, + 45 ° or 45 ° (also corresponding to + 135 °), and + 90 ° with the main axis of the part to be made. The 0 ° corresponds to the axis of the machine to perform the stack, that is to say the axis that corresponds to the direction of advancement of the stack during its design. The main axis of the piece which is the largest axis of the part is generally confused with 00. It is, for example, possible to produce quasi-isotropic, symmetrical or oriented stacks by choosing the orientation of the folds. As examples of quasi-isotropic stacking, mention may be made of stacking according to the angles 450/00/1350/900 or 900/1350/00/450. As examples of symmetrical stacking, mention may be made of 00/900/00 or 45 ° / 135 ° / 45 °. In particular, stacks comprising more than 4 unidirectional sheets, for example from 10 to 300 unidirectional sheets may be made. These plies can be oriented according to 2, 3, 4, 5, or more, different directions. Advantageously, the unidirectional sheets of carbon fibers have a basis weight of 100 to 280 g / m 2. In the context of the invention, whatever the variant embodiment, the layer (s) of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or of a mixture of the two used for the production of the stack is (are), preferably , a nonwoven of thermoplastic fibers. Although these possibilities are not preferred, layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both fabric, porous film, grids, knits or powder coating could be used. By nonwoven, which can also be called "veil", is conventionally meant a set of continuous or short fibers arranged randomly. These nonwovens or webs may for example be produced by the dry process ("Drylaid"), wet ("Wetlaid"), melted ("Spun (aid)), for example by extrusion (" Spunbond ") methods. ), extrusion blow molding ("Meltblown"), or by solvent spinning ("electrospinning", "Flashspining"), well known to those skilled in the art In particular, the constituent fibers of the nonwoven may have average diameters in the range from 0.5 to 70 μm, and preferably from 0.5 to 20 μm, the nonwovens may be short fibers or, preferably, continuous fibers. The fibers can have, for example, a length of between 1 and 100 mm, and the nonwovens provide a random, and preferably isotropic, covering. woven present within the stack has a mass per unit area included da In the range of 0.2 to 20 g / m2 will be used. Preferably, each of the nonwovens present within the stack has a thickness of 0.5 to 50 microns, preferably 3 to 35 microns. The layer (s) of thermoplastic or thermosetting material (s) present (s) within the stack, and especially the nonwovens, is (are), preferably, a thermoplastic material selected from polyamides, copolyamides, polyamides - block ether or ester, polyphthalamides, polyesters, copolyesters, thermoplastic polyurethanes, polyacetals, C2-C8 polyolefins, polyethersulfones, polysulfones, polyphenylenesulfones, polyetheretherketones, polyetherketone ketones, poly (sulfide phenylene), polyetherimides, thermoplastic polyimides, liquid crystal polymers, phenoxys, block copolymers such as styrenebutadiene-methylmethacrylate copolymers, methylmethacrylate-butyl-methylmethacrylate acrylate copolymers and mixtures thereof. The other steps used for the manufacture of the composite part are quite conventional for the skilled person. In particular, the manufacture of the composite part uses, as final steps, a step of diffusion, by infusion or injection, of a thermosetting resin, a thermoplastic resin or a mixture of such resins, within the stack, followed by a consolidation step of the desired part by a polymerization / crosslinking step following a defined cycle temperature and pressure, and a step of cooling. According to a particular embodiment, adapted furthermore to all the implementation variants described in connection with the invention, the diffusion, consolidation and cooling steps are implemented in a closed mold.
In particular, a resin diffused within the stack will be a thermoplastic resin as previously listed for the layer of thermoplastic material constituting the stack, or preferably a thermosetting resin selected from epoxides, unsaturated polyesters, vinyl esters, phenolic resins, polyimides, bismaleimides. phenol-formaldehyde resins, urea-formaldehyde, 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamines, benzoxazines, cyanate esters, and mixtures thereof. Such a resin may also include one or more curing agents, well known to those skilled in the art for use with selected thermosetting polymers. In the case where the production of the composite part uses the diffusion, by infusion or injection, of a thermosetting resin, a thermoplastic resin or a mixture of such resins, within the stack which is the application major considered in the context of the invention, the stack made before the addition of this external resin contains no more than 10% of thermoplastic or thermosetting material. In particular, the layers of thermoplastic or thermosetting material or a mixture of both represent from 0.5 to 10% of the total mass of the stack, and preferably from 1 to 30% of the total mass of the stack, before adding this external resin. Although the invention is particularly suitable for the implementation of direct process, it is also applicable to indirect processes using prepreg materials type. Preferably, in the context of the invention, the stack is performed automatically. The invention will preferably use an infusion in the stack, under reduced pressure, in a closed mold, in particular at a pressure below atmospheric pressure, in particular less than 1 bar, and preferably between 0.1 and 1 bar, thermosetting or thermoplastic resin, or a mixture of such resins, for producing the composite part. The composite part is finally obtained after a heat treatment step. In particular, the composite part is generally obtained by a conventional consolidation cycle of the polymers in question, by performing a heat treatment, recommended by the suppliers of these polymers, and known to those skilled in the art. This consolidation step of the desired part is carried out by polymerization / crosslinking according to a cycle defined in temperature and under pressure, followed by cooling. In the case of thermosetting resin, it will most often be a step of gelling the resin before curing. The pressure applied during the treatment cycle is low in the case of infusion under reduced pressure and higher in the case of injection into a RTM mold. Advantageously, the composite part obtained has a fiber content by volume of 55 to 70% and especially 60 to 65%, which leads to satisfactory properties especially for the field of aeronautics. The fiber volume ratio (FVT) of a composite part is calculated from the measurement of the thickness of a composite part by knowing the surface density of the unidirectional carbon layer and the properties of the carbon fiber, from the following equation: nx Surface mass UD carbon x TVF (%) = (1) Carbon fiber X plate 20 Where plate is the thickness of the plate in mm, carbon fiber is the density of the carbon fiber in 9 / cm3, the surface mass UD carbon is in g / m2. The following examples illustrate the invention, but are not limiting in nature. Description of the starting materials: - Sail of copolyamide thickness 118pm and 6g / m2, sold under the reference 1R8D06 by the company Protechnic (Cernay, France) - Copolyamide veil of 59pm thickness and 3g / m2, marketed under the reference 1R8D03 by the company Protechnic (Cernay, France), 2 9 8992 1 18 - Unidirectional tablecloth made with IMA 12K and 446 Tex son of Hexcel, so as to obtain a basis weight of 194g / m2. Preparation of Intermediate Materials A polyamide / carbon fleece / polyamide web stack is made and thermally bonded according to the process described on pages 27 to 30 of WO 2010/046609. The intermediate material thus obtained is then perforated by means of a set of needles as shown in FIG. 5. Each needle has a diameter of 1.6 mm in its regular cylindrical portion and is heated to a temperature of 250.degree. The hole density obtained corresponds to the configuration shown in FIG. 3 with a distance of 3 nm between two perforations on the lines perpendicular to the unidirectional fibers (Si series) and 3.5 mm on the intersecting lines (Series 52). The tension applied to the intermediate material during perforation is 1.7 10-3 15 N / mm. Preparation of composite parts The material is then used to make a laminate, according to a stack of 16 folds (i.e., 16 intermediate materials), and then the resin is injected according to a RTM process into a closed mold. The size of the panel is 340 x 340 x 3 mm for an FTV of 60%. The stack chosen is [0/90] 4s. The stack of 16 folds is deposited in an aluminum mold and the mold is placed under a 10 bar press. The assembly is mounted at 120 ° C. The injected resin is the RTM6 epoxy resin from Hexcel. The resin is preheated to 80 ° C in an injection machine and then injected into a mold having an inlet for the resin and an outlet. Once resin is recovered at the outlet, the injection is stopped and the mold is mounted at 180 ° C for 2 hours. During this period the mold is maintained at a pressure of 10 bar. For comparison, stacks made with non-perforated intermediate materials are also made.
Transverse Conductivity Measurement of Composite Parts Three to four samples are cut from the 40mm x 40mm panel. The surface of each sample is sandblasted to expose the surface of the carbon fibers. This sanding step is not necessary if a tear-off fabric has been used for the preparation of the parts. Next, the front and back faces of each sample are treated in order to deposit a layer of conductive metal, typically gold, by sputtering, plasma treatment or evaporation under vacuum. Deposits of gold or any other metal must be removed from the test fields by sanding or sanding. This deposit of conductive metal makes it possible to have a low contact resistance between the sample and the measuring means. A power source (programmable TT1 EL302P power supply 30V / 2A, Thurlby Thandar Instruments, Cambridge UK) capable of varying current and voltage is used to determine the resistance. The sample is in contact with the 2 electrodes of the power supply unit these electrodes are put in contact by means of a clamp. It must be ensured that the electrodes are not in contact with each other or in contact with any other metallic element. A current of 1 A is applied and the resistance is measured by two other electrodes connected to a voltmeter / ohmmeter. The test is performed on each sample to be measured. The value of the resistance is then reduced to the value of the conductivity using the dimensions of the sample and the following formulas: Resistivity (Ohm.m) = Resistance (Ohm) x Surface (m2) / Thickness (m Conductivity (SI m) = 1 / Resistivity The results are shown in Table 1 below.
