Le séparateur magnétique (1) comprend : - un support fixe (5), portant une pluralité d'éléments magnétiques (7, 9); - une virole (11) disposée autour du support fixe (5) et ayant un axe central (C), la virole (11) présentant une surface périphérique externe (43) et une surface périphérique interne (41), les éléments magnétiques (7,9) ayant chacun une face terminale (31) tournée vers la surface périphérique interne (41); - une liaison (13) de la virole (11) au support fixe (5), agencée pour entraîner la virole (11) en rotation par rapport au support fixe (5) autour de l'axe central (C). Les faces terminales (31) des éléments magnétiques (7,9) présentent chacune au moins une portion bombée vers la surface périphérique interne (41).
