Abstract

The device has a speaker (2), an elliptical reflector (3), and a slot (5), where sound waves emitted by the speaker is reflected by the elliptical reflector and focused to navigate through the slot toward a listener (4). The speaker is placed on a plane perpendicular to a support of an enclosure (1), to radiate the sound waves towards the elliptical reflector, where a scattering angle of the sound waves is varied by varying parameters of the reflector and an inclination of a plane of the speaker.

Description

The present invention relates to a built-in acoustic speaker with invisible speakers, radiating indirectly through a slot. Currently, all commercial projects have one or more speakers in direct radiation. The speakers thus produced generally comprise a white or black grid, so as to opacify, thus conceal the speakers. Several drawbacks emerge: the integration is limited by the aesthetics of the grids and the latter behave like diffractors vis-à-vis the sound wave, greatly degrading the reproduction of high frequencies. The invention makes it possible to make an audio speaker with invisible loudspeakers and radiating through a thin opening. This device allows total integration into an interior, leaving visible in a wall, a ceiling or furniture a slot of a few centimeters in height. The length of the slot depends on the number of loudspeakers and / or the number of speakers that one wishes to integrate into the device: for example, one can build behind a single slot a broadband speaker (1 loudspeaker). speaker), a 3-way speaker (3 speakers) or 3 3-way speakers (3-way home theater system, each consisting of 3 speakers). The one or more loudspeakers (2) are placed in a plane almost perpendicular to the support of the enclosure (1), and radiate towards an elliptical reflector (3). The sound wave is then reflected by the latter, and passes through the slot. The listener (4), placed perpendicular to the plane of the support, receives the reflected wave. In order to deform at least the sound wave as it passes through the slot, the latter is focused by the reflector, which adopts an elliptical curvature. FIG. 1 gives the geometric construction: an ellipse of center 0 and foci F and F '. The loudspeaker (2) is inclined along the major axis and its center placed in one of the foci F. According to the reflectivity properties of the ellipse, it is known that any wave produced at F is focused in F 'by reflection on a reflector (3) according to the curvature of the ellipse. Since a speaker emits in a privileged manner up to +/- 20 ° from its diffusion axis, it is possible to place the slot (5) on the path of the sound wave without major deterioration. 1/3 By playing on the parameters of the ellipse and the inclination of the plane of the loudspeaker, it is also possible to play on the angle of diffusion, allowing to realize vertical or horizontal models radiating towards a part or a other of the listening room.

FIG.2 montre un exemple de réalisation industrielle. 20 25 2/3 FIG. 2 shows an example of industrial realization. It is an audio speaker intended to be integrated in a plasterboard wall, whose case is mounted on two standard metal rails 48mm thick (6). The loudspeakers (2) are mounted horizontally and are hidden behind a plate (1). The sound wave produced is reflected by the elliptical reflector (3) and passes through the slot (5). The speaker can be painted, coated or hidden behind a wooden siding, the user sees a thin slot that completely hides the speakers. 20 25 2/3
