Abstract

The handle has a slightly padded envelope closed by covering an end of a leash (9) and a holding ring on a surfboard to prevent passage of fingers into the holding ring of the leash, where the envelope is made of flexible polymer. An adjustable connecting system i.e. cord, is provided between the envelope and the holding ring. The connecting system comprises two ends that are respectively provided with fastening strip and part e.g. velvet hooks, to form a length-adjustable loop.

Description

DESCRIPTION The invention relates to the protection of surfers; basically beginners. This is to prevent accidents causing serious hand injuries, fractures and tearing of tissue, resulting in handicaps or amputations of the fingers. This information is regularly recalled by the medical services, mainly by specialists "hand". The invention is particularly adapted and valuable for surf schools responsible for initiation. To date, there is no prevention system of this nature.

Novice practitioners handle, in a dangerous way, their surfboard, longer and heavier than that of experienced surfers; experience shows that despite the advice and warnings, in a large proportion, they tend to grasp and wrap the "leash" (9), (slipping), around the hand or to "Trigger guard" or the fastening leash (1) of the "leash" on the board, to pull it. The catch in the water being very important, the forces exerted by a wave, are transmitted to the hand and to the fingers, badly positioned. The consequences are often serious, requiring surgical interventions. In addition to injuries to the fingers and the hand, there are also those caused by the abrupt return of the board under the elastic action of the "leash" wrapped around the hand. Facial injuries are common. The invention makes it possible to prevent these types of accidents.

The technical solution proposed consists of an ergonomic security handle, removable, which can be used on the different surfboards, depending on the practitioner. This protective handle comprises a flexible envelope (6), slightly padded, non-slip on the outer face, it closes by covering the end of the "leash" and the fixing ring on the board (1) with a tongue. The closure and adjustment of this envelope are provided by a quick hooking system, type "hook-velvet". (7) and (8) This protection comprises, inside, a flexible hooking plate of the same type "hook-velvet" consisting of a first band secured to the casing (3) and the end d a solid bead (2) and the second hooking portion secured to the other end of the bead (4). This device makes it possible to form a loop, of adjustable length (5) to adapt it to all the fastening systems used on the different surfboards. When the handle is in place, - 1 ° - it prevents the passage of the fingers in the fixing rings (1) of the leash on the board, dangerous area for the fingers (first type of injury), - 2 ° - constituting the most convenient part to be grasped by beginners, it removes the winding reflex "leash" (9) around the hand, causing injuries to the hand and face by shock in elastic return.
