Abstract

The tool (10) has a connection/gripping unit (16) e.g. handle, and an engaging unit (18) engaged on a head of a fixing member e.g. screw (20) or nut, to rotate the fixing member. A detection unit (22) detects tightening torque applied to the fixing member, and transmits an electrical signal when the torque reaches a predetermined value. An ink jet marking unit (24) has an ink jet print head (30) connected to the detection unit by an electrical conductor (32) and controlled by the detection unit to place a mark on the fixing member when the signal is transmitted. The print head is selected from a group comprising a piezoelectric print head, thermal print head, bubble-jet print head, thermal-fusion print head and valve-jet print head.
