Abstract

The device has a measuring unit measuring quantity of electricity received by a battery (120), during charging of the battery, and another measuring unit e.g. thermometric sensor (132), for measuring temperature of the battery. A third measuring unit (137) measures no-load voltage at terminals of the battery in time preceding immediately the charging step. A storing unit (140) stores the information correlating the charge state of the battery to the no-load voltage. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for estimating load capacity of a battery of a vehicle (2) a device for charging the battery of a vehicle comprising storing unit (3) a battery comprising an identification unit.
