Abstract
The method involves recovering a media access control address of an Internet protocol (IP) camera by an application (5) executed on a user terminal (4), and selecting a private IP address not used on a local area network (2) automatically. The selected IP address is automatically listed in an IP camera, and a port not utilized by a router (10) is automatically allocated to the camera. A public IP address of the camera is automatically recovered by an application server (30) connected to an Internet, and the router port associated to the camera is sent to the application server. An independent claim is also included for an information recording medium comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for configuring an Internet protocol camera.
