Abstract

The invention relates to a safety harness (1) for restraining the fall of a user comprising an assembly of straps intended to be passed around the body of the user and able to ensure its maintenance, and a hooking means (5 ) to a fall arrest system connected by a link to said assembly. According to the invention, the link comprises a first fastening means (3) with low resistance R1 which can yield in the event of a fall, R1 being less than the force to which said means undergoes during a fall of the user equipped with the harness. , and a second fastening means (4) of high resistance R2 which does not yield in the event of a fall, R2 being greater than the force that said means undergoes during a fall of the user equipped with the harness, so that the means d 'initially umbilical attachment moves upwardly of the user when it is subjected to a tensile force such that the first fixing means gives way and this until a final position of said attachment means where it remains blocked because the resistance of the second fixing means.
