Abstract

The footrest (22) has a first connecting rod (44) whose end is articulated with a cushion (26). An end of a second connecting rod (32) is articulated with the cushion. An end of a third connecting rod (42) is articulated with the other end of the first connecting rod. The other end of the second rod and the other end of the third rod cooperate with each other by a driving device i.e. gear system. The system is provided with gears (36, 38) and mounted on a base (2) of a seat in a pivoting manner. The gears and/or the rods are made of plastic or steel, where each gear is provided with teeth. An independent claim is also included for a seat for a motor vehicle, comprising a backrest.
