Abstract

The device has a pericranien support (0) supporting an electronic system (1) and connected to an adjustable mouth guard (2) by a non-elastic strap (3) that transfers force from an oral opening to a pressure sensor (6). A metallic stopper (5) is fixed on the non-elastic strap, and uniformly distributes the force on the pressure sensor that is fixed at a closed support (7). The pressure sensor is integrated in a dividing bridge of a stopper, where low pressure exerted on the pressure sensor increases output voltage of the dividing bridge.

Description

The present invention relates to a device that allows rapid detection, diagnosis and treatment by rehabilitation of a type of swallowing said primary or atypical Presented by a large number of individuals. Primary swallowing is a phenomenon known for a long time .5 Rehabilitation is currently designed only with the intervention of a health professional who teaches the practice of exercises. These are then repeated by the patient. No technical device has existed so far to help or stimulate patients to rehabilitate their atypical swallowing. The normal swallowing is tight teeth, the atypical swallowing occurs inoculation teeth with interposition of the tongue between the teeth. The device according to the invention makes it possible to visualize the existence of an occlusion contact between the teeth of the upper maxillary and the teeth of the lower jaw during swallowing. The device is indeed totally exobuccal; it is an adaptable mechanical system 15 which has a pericranian support and a mental support. The two parts are connected by non-elastic straps which transmit, limiting the losses, the force caused by the opening of the mouth to a sensor very sensitive pressure. The sensor controls the lighting of light diodes. The device is calibrated at each test when the patient's teeth are in occlusion, the green diode 20 is then lit. The slightest movement of the teeth exerts a force on the sensor, which destabilizes the system, the green diode goes out and the red diode lights up. The green diode can only be illuminated again after the intervention of the subject who recalibrates the device.

The accompanying drawing illustrates the invention. With reference to this drawing, the device comprises a cranial support (1) which carries the electronic system, this cranial support is connected to an adjustable chin strap (2) by a non-elastic strap (3) which transfers the opening force. mouth to a pressure sensor (6) while limiting losses. This strap is supported on two bearings (4) placed laterally; these serve to reverse the direction of the force so that it acts on the sensor (6) in a minimum of space. On the strap is fixed a metal pad (5) which uniformly distributes the forces on an FSR pressure sensor (6) (force detection resistor), which is fixed to a firm support (7). The FSR sensor is integrated in a voltage divider bridge (8). In the absence of pressure, the sensor is equivalent to infinite resistance (open circuit), so the output voltage is negligible. The slightest pressure drops the resistance of the FSR, so the output voltage of the divider bridge increases. This voltage is applied to one of the inputs of a comparator AOP (9). The second input of this AOP is a reference voltage (10), adjustable by means of a potentiometer. Thus, when the voltage coming from the divider bridge exceeds the reference voltage, the transistor is turned on and can control an integrated circuit (11). The last integrated circuit is a flip-flop (12), each new pulse at its input 20 switches the logic level of its complementary outputs where the red and green diodes are. In the end, with a good threshold voltage setting, the slightest pressure on the FSR sensor will switch the diodes on.

The 5 V supply is generated by a 7805 voltage regulator whose input voltage is supplied by a 9 V battery, the assembly consuming very little power at rest. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for screening and reeducation of primary swallowing.
