Abstract

The method involves moving a measure gas chamber to a reference gas channel based on oxygen concentration in the measure gas chamber with negative or positive pumping current corresponding to oxygen ion current. The reference gas channel is moved to the measure gas chamber. Oxygen filling level in the reference gas channel is measured by an oxygen determination unit (180). The measured oxygen filling level is compared with the threshold value by the oxygen determination unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for managing a lambda probe comprising a control apparatus (2) a computer program comprising instructions for executing a method for managing a lambda probe measuring lambda coefficient of exhaust gas (3) a computer program product comprising a program code recorded on a medium readable by a machine for implementing a method for managing a lambda probe measuring lambda coefficient of exhaust gas.
