Abstract

The method involves actuating a valve (161) e.g. bypass valve, such that flow of fresh air feeding an internal combustion engine (4) passes into a high pressure by-pass circuit (111). Position setpoint of an actuator (15) is determined relative to a compression ratio setpoint of a low pressure compressor (3), a flow measurement via the pressure compressor, pressure measurements respectively downstream of a low pressure turbine (2) and the pressure compressor and temperature measurements respectively upstream of the turbine and the pressure compressor.
