Abstract

The glasses have a frame supporting two loupe type eyepieces (5) that are made of synthetic sapphire with refraction index of about 1.75. The frame has two supports (2, 3) connected by a bridge (4). Description

The present invention relates to reading glasses comprising a frame supporting two eyepieces magnifying type.

Reading glasses with loupe-type eyepieces have been known and used for a long time. Indeed, for a very long time we use the simple magnifying glass in a bezel circle with a handle to read or for example examine in detail a miniature. We also had the conventional glasses with a two-armed frame, the monocle, the nose clip or the face-to-hand. It is easy to find such reading glasses that are bought today in some supermarkets. The disadvantage of the eyepieces of these reading glasses is the fact that the material used is easily scratchable and resists badly to shocks. In Figure 1 there is shown a single mount 1 with two supports 2, 3 for the eyepieces joined by a bridge 4.
