Description
The present invention relates to the field of pool water disinfection by electrochlorination. The invention more particularly relates to a multifunctional composition and its use in the treatment of swimming pool water.
The disinfection of the water can be carried out by an in situ electrolytic process of a saline solution of sodium chloride allowing the production of chlorine transforming into hypochlorite. Waters that can be treated in this way are, for example, bathing water, and in particular swimming pools, industrial cooling water and urban wastewater.
Among the compositions of the prior art, mention may in particular be made of French patent FR 2,670,198, which describes a composition for the disinfection of water by an electrochlorination process comprising at least one alkaline chloride and a chlorine stabilizing agent. vis-à-vis the UV. The stabilizing agent may in particular be isocyanuric acid, present in a content ranging from 0.3 to 0.8% by weight relative to the total weight of the salt used in the composition. However, the maintenance of pools requires different types of action: it is not only to disinfect the water but also to prevent the proliferation of algae, to avoid deposits of limestone still called tartar and / or eliminate, fight against corrosion and avoid the formation of stains (anti-deposit action and / or action facilitating the cleaning of stains). These additional actions require the use of multiple products. In fact, the existing products do not make it possible to obtain a complete and efficient treatment of water and in particular the waters of swimming pools. In other words, it would be desirable for the user to be able to use a single product or a single composition having the properties required to be able to perform several actions, or even all the necessary and / or useful actions to treat the water, in particular those mentioned above. Of course, these properties may be related to the compositions themselves or to these same compositions, which become active once treated, for example by electrochlorination. Another aspect of the invention relates to the presentation of the composition. On the market, some compositions are in the form of pebbles that are not very recognizable from each other, especially with respect to their color, which can lead to the use of a composition that is not perfectly adapted to the needs. There is therefore still a need for a composition that makes it possible to solve all or part of the problems mentioned above, or at least one multifunctional composition with respect to different aspects of water treatment, which may be
-2- in particular allow a total or almost total treatment of water by the action of this single composition. The subject of the invention is therefore a composition for disinfection treatment of swimming pool water by electrochlorination, said composition comprising an alkaline chloride and a chlorine stabilizing agent, in particular with respect to ultraviolet radiation, in combination with an agent exerting a anti-scale and / or anti-corrosion and / or anti-stain function. This composition not only allows the disinfection of water and the stabilization of chlorine but also to prevent the proliferation of algae and deposition of limestone, to reduce corrosion, to avoid the formation of deposits and / or to facilitate cleaning stains or deposits. Of course, the composition according to the invention has most or all of the described functions when used with an electrolysis apparatus for the production of chlorine.
In the sense of the present invention, anti-stain is understood to mean a reduction or even elimination of deposits and / or an improvement in the ease of cleaning of said deposits. The composition comprises an alkaline chloride, in particular sodium chloride. This alkaline chloride has in particular the following characteristics: - minimum content of alkaline earth compounds, for example the magnesium content may be less than 5 mg / kg, or even 3 mg / kg and / or the calcium content may be lower at 500 mg / kg, or even 250 mg / kg, - very low content of insoluble matter in water, in particular a content of less than 50 mg / kg, especially less than 30 mg / kg, - very low content of materials oxidizable organic, - very low content of iron, copper and manganese, especially to optimize the electrolytic efficiency and / or prevent the risk of corrosion. For example, the iron content may be less than 3 mg / kg, the copper content may be less than 2 mg / kg, and / or the manganese content may be less than or equal to 2 mg / kg. These contents are given in mg per kg of alkaline chloride. For the purposes of the present invention, the term "very low content" means a content of less than or equal to 200 mg / kg, in particular less than or equal to 100 mg / kg.
The stabilizing agent of chlorine, in particular with respect to ultraviolet radiation, makes it possible to limit the UV destruction of the hypochlorite ion originating from the chlorine formed by the electrochlorination process.
The stabilizing agent may be present in a content ranging from 0.3 to 0.81%, preferably from 0.3 to 0.8%, more preferably from 0.6 to 0.8% by weight relative to to the total weight of the alkaline chloride, or salt, used in the composition. Advantageously, this stabilizing agent will be isocyanuric acid.
The composition also comprises at least one function other than that of chlorine stabilizer, chosen from the anti-corrosion, anti-scale and / or anti-stain function. In particular, the composition may comprise two or all of these functions. These functions may be provided by one or more agents. Preferably, these functions will be provided by a single agent: hydroxy-1-ethylydene-diphosphonic acid also called 1-hydroxy-ethanediphosphonic acid-1,1 (HEDP or HEDPA), of formula CH3C (OH) [PO (OH ) 2] 2, optionally in the form of salts, in particular of sodium salts. This agent can provide anti-corrosion, anti-scale and anti-stain functions.
Contrary to popular belief, it is indeed possible to mix in the same composition of HEDP, alkali chloride and isocyanuric acid without this mixture poses stability problems over time. The HEDP content of the composition may range from 0.25 to 0.76%, preferably from 0.25 to 0.75%, more preferably from 0.35 to 0.50% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition. alkali chloride, or salt, used in the composition. In particular, the composition comprises an amount of HEDP such that the HEDP content in water is greater than or equal to 10 mg / l. In particular, this content may range from 10 to 30 mg / l.
In this case, the composition allows good control of a low dosage of HEDP in the pool water, particularly through the use of pellets of the composition which contains this component at a suitable dose. These levels of HEDP make it possible to obtain a particularly effective action against corrosion.
In particular, this composition is in solid form, in particular in the form of pebbles, tablets, blocks, pills, pellets, compacts, agglomerates or granules. These solid forms can be obtained by compression of the mixture. The solid form of the composition has several advantages, among which may be mentioned: the improvement of the preservation of this composition, in particular with respect to the liquid form, good homogeneity, good safety, particularly with regard to accidental or involuntary ingestion by children, - easy incorporation of components even in very small quantities, and - an easy dosage for the user who adds a whole number of solids or sachets comprising the composition. In particular, the solid form can be bilayer or monolayer. Indeed, the monolayer form is possible because of the absence of stability problem of the mixture. For reasons of cost, the monolayer form will preferably be chosen. According to a particular variant, the composition according to the invention may comprise a coloring agent or dye. This can in particular make it possible to identify or distinguish different types of compositions from one another according to the coloring. Advantageously, the dye will be incorporated in the composition in an amount of from 0.00005 to 0.005%, preferably from 0.0001 to 0.005%, more preferably from 0.0001 to 0.002% by total weight of the composition. This content makes it possible to obtain a visible coloration of the composition while not staining the water of the swimming pool after introducing the necessary quantity. In the manufacturing process, such a content can be obtained by spraying the powdery composition with a dilute dye solution. Advantageously, the dye will be diluted with an aqueous solution, for example water. The dye will preferably be chosen from food additives, such as, for example, E 133. Most particularly, the composition consists of sodium chloride, isocyanuric acid, HEDP salts, and optionally a dye. This composition allows a disinfecting action with a suitable chlorination, an anti-algae action, an anti-stain, anti-corrosion and anti-limescale action. In addition, the combined action of sodium chloride, isocyanuric acid and salts of HEDP makes it possible to obtain a particularly effective treatment. According to another of its aspects, the subject of the invention is the use of a composition according to the invention as a disinfecting, anti-algae, chlorine-stabilizing and anti-limescale, anti-corrosion and anti-corrosion composition. / or anti-stain, particularly in the context of the treatment of swimming pool water by electrochlorination. According to another of its aspects, the subject of the invention is the use of hydroxy-1-ethylydene-diphosphonic acid, also called hydroxy-1-ethane-diphosphonic acid-1,1 (HEDP or HEDPA), of formula CH3C (OH) [PO (OH) 2] 2, optionally in the form of salts, in particular sodium salts, as an anti-corrosion, anti-stain and anti-scale agent in a disinfecting composition for the treatment of swimming pool water. According to still another of its aspects, the subject of the invention is a method for treating swimming pool water by electrochlorination, comprising a step 5 of adding in water a single composition according to the invention. By a single composition, it is meant that no additive or additional product is necessary because the composition according to the invention makes it possible to obtain a complete treatment of water, that is to say a treatment comprising the entire actions mentioned above. The addition of the composition according to the invention in water and the implementation of the electrochlorination are therefore sufficient to obtain a stabilizing action of chlorine, disinfectant, anti-algae, anti-corrosion, anti-scale and anti -task. For example, when starting up the pool, an effective amount of the composition according to the invention will be introduced into the pool water 15 and the electrochlorination process will be started. Then, for the maintenance of the pool, the regular introduction of a small amount of composition will be performed.
