Abstract

The system (3) has contact-less electronic tags (9) fixed at reference geographical points and respectively provided with electronic chips. Geographical position i.e. global positioning system (GPS) position, of each point is stored in the corresponding electronic chip. Each point includes an identification number corresponding to geographical coordinates of the point, and a telephone number of a call center such that a user of the system is located by dialing the telephone number and by indicating the identification number of the point. An independent claim is also included for a method for geolocation of an individual carrying a mobile communication terminal.
