Abstract

The system has a remote relay site (SR) containing text files of rights free books in a specific format. The processing unit demands and receives the text file sent from the relay site through the link and controls the machine for printing the text and binding the book manufactured from the file. L'invention a pour but de proposer une solution optimisée sur le plan économique et du point de vue de la réduction des impacts environnementaux pour la fabrication et la commercialisation de livres. Elle entend également proposer une amélioration des circuits et procédures de mise à disposition des lecteurs de livres papiers, tout en protégeant les droits des auteurs et des éditeurs, droits dont le respect est indispensable à la création littéraire. La situation actuelle des personnes faisant oeuvre de création littéraire, des éditeurs et des libraires est en effet particulièrement difficile, io compte notamment tenu : - du très grand nombre de livres susceptibles d'être proposés à la vente, nombre de livre qui rend impossible, pour chaque point de vente, la possession d'un stock permettant de répondre à la totalité de la demande de la clientèle. Cette impossibilité se traduit par une désaffection des clients qui 15 acceptent difficilement de revenir une semaine plus tard pour prendre possession de l'ouvrage qu'ils ont commandé parce qu'il s'était avéré indisponible dans les rayons du magasin. Devant cette situation, les clients ont tendance à abandonner leurs velléités d'achat ou à commander directement le ou les ouvrages qu'ils désirent par correspondance ou sur 20 internet. Plus généralement, le modèle de fonctionnement économique de la io chaîne de création et de diffusion des oeuvres littéraires montre ses limites, à tel point que l'on constate une raréfaction et un appauvrissement de la création littéraire. Ceci très probablement en raison de la faible part du chiffre d'affaires de l'édition qui est consacrée à la rémunération des auteurs, et de la constante diminution de cette part en valeur absolue comme en valeur 15 relative. Or, plus que jamais, la création littéraire a besoin d'être encouragée et rémunérée.
