Abstract

The device has a metallic dowel bush (1) fixed to a wheel shaft of a manual wheelchair and presenting a square section cavity in which a lever arm (3) is introduced. The bush maintains access to a bolt (2) to demount wheels of the wheelchair. The lever arm is adjustable in length by a maintenance handle mounted on a screw thread (5). A ratchet system (4) is connected to the lever arm and permits forward movement or reverse movement of the wheelchair.

Description

La présente invention concerne un nouveau dispositif de propulsion adaptable sur un fauteuil roulant manuel. Le mode de transfert est traditionnellement effectué par l'action des membres supérieurs sur la main courante du fauteuil roulant, ce qui peut entrainer des frottements, pincements et être un des éléments responsables de la fréquence des atteintes musculo-tendineuses et articulaires de l'épaule ainsi que les problèmes de dos. Il limite les gestes répétitifs et donc le risque de lésions, atteintes musculo-tendineuses et 20 articulaires. L'ajout d'un système à cliquet sur le bras de levier permet également, sans difficulté et dans les mêmes conditions avantageuses le mouvement de marche en avant ou de marche en arrière du fauteuil.
