Abstract
Description
Dispositif de traitement des gaz d'échappement à butée réglable. Exhaust gas treatment device with adjustable stop.
The present invention relates to the treatment of the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, in particular for motor vehicles equipped with particulate filter. More specifically, the invention relates to a device for treating the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, the device comprising: a housing comprising an upstream face that can be connected to an inlet pipe for the exhaust gas and a downstream face capable of being connected to the exit cone of the exhaust gas, said housing being capable of receiving at least one ceramic body for treating the exhaust gas. Such a device is known to those skilled in the art, in particular by the example given in the document of the prior art EP1767752.
Il est prévu dans ce document de découper le corps en céramique et le boîtier pour que ceux-ci puisse coopérer d'une manière particulière en cas de contact entre eux, de sorte à réduire le risque d'endommagement du corps en céramique et/ou du boîtier. It is intended in this document to cut the ceramic body and the housing so that they can cooperate in a particular manner in case of contact between them, so as to reduce the risk of damage to the ceramic body and / or of the case.
A ceramic body has a relatively friable structure which results in the cutting, there are disparities of cutting surface may be of the order of a millimeter. Typically, the shape of a ceramic body is substantially cylindrical once it is integrated in the housing, and the transverse (cutting) faces of the cylinder of the ceramic body are neither perfectly smooth nor planar. For example, the length of a ceramic body cylinder has a tolerance range of plus or minus 4 mm, i.e. 2 mm on each side. Therefore, the length of the cylinder of the ceramic body may not be homogeneous at any point of its transverse faces, and it may therefore be required to have a translation movement relative to the housing. The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages by providing a device for preventing a translational movement of the ceramic body relative to the housing in which it is inserted. With this objective in view, the device according to the invention, moreover, in accordance with the preamble cited above, is essentially characterized in that it further comprises: - adjustable holding means, configured to prevent relative translational movement longitudinal between said ceramic body and said housing. According to another characteristic, the adjustable holding means may be arranged on at least one of the upstream or downstream faces of said housing. In one embodiment, the holding means 25 may be adjustable by the cooperation between said holding means and adjusting means. Preferably, the holding means comprise a stop. Preferably, the adjusting means comprises an adjusting ring.
Preferably, the adjusting ring is a threaded adjustment ring. The invention also relates to a particulate filter comprising the device according to the invention and at least one ceramic body. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle equipped with the particle filter according to the invention. Other features and advantages of the present invention will emerge more clearly on reading the following description given by way of illustrative and nonlimiting example and with reference to the appended figures in which: FIG. According to the prior art, FIG. 2 is a cross-section along the BB axis of FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is an enlargement of zone Z of FIG. 2. FIG. a particle filter housing according to the prior art. Conventionally, the exhaust gases are fed through an inlet pipe 9, they pass through one or more ceramic bodies 1 to emerge through an outlet cone 8. For simplicity of the present description, only a ceramic body 1 is represented. The ceramic body 1, or monolith, generally in the form of bread, is disposed in a housing 3, and serves for the treatment of the exhaust gas.
Most often, the ceramic body 1 has a cylindrical volume, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. It is covered radially by a mat 2, for example composed of ceramic fibers. One of the faces of the mat 2 is in contact with the housing 3, and the other face of the mat 2 is in contact with the ceramic body 1. As shown in Figure 2, the ceramic body 1 is held on the tubing side input 9 (upstream face) by holding means, such as a stop made by a fold of the housing 3. Other holding means can be envisaged. These holding means maintain in translation the ceramic body 1 in the housing 3, on the input pipe side 9, so as to prevent any relative longitudinal translational movement between said ceramic body 1 and said housing 3, that is to say that said ceramic body 1 is held inside said housing 3. On the outlet side of the exhaust gas, an outlet cone 8 is removably attached to the housing 3 by removable fixing means, for example a set of fastening screws 7, each screw thread of which cooperates with a corresponding thread (not shown) of the casing 3. Preferably, a seal 6 is placed between the outlet cone 8 and the casing 3.
Selon l'invention, on dispose, du côté de la sortie des gaz d'échappement (face aval), de moyens de maintien du corps en céramique 1 dans le boîtier 3, par exemple une butée 4. Les moyens de maintien coopèrent avec des moyens de réglage. Telle que représentée, la butée 4 coopère avec une bague de réglage filetée 5. According to the invention, the outlet side of the exhaust gas (downstream face) has means for holding the ceramic body 1 in the housing 3, for example an abutment 4. The holding means co-operate with adjustment means. As shown, the stop 4 cooperates with a threaded adjustment ring 5.
Ainsi, pour le montage ou le démontage du corps en céramique 1, il convient de démonter toutes les vis 7 de fixation, de manière à désolidariser le cône de sortie 8 du boîtier 3. Thus, for the assembly or disassembly of the ceramic body 1, it is necessary to disassemble all the fixing screws 7, so as to separate the exit cone 8 from the housing 3.
Ensuite, le joint d'étanchéité 6 peut alors être enlevé. Selon l'invention, la bague de réglage filetée 5 comprend avantageusement une pluralité d'évidements 5.1 (figure 2, figure 3) configurés pour permettre le passage 10 d'un outil de vissage non représenté. Grâce à l'outil de vissage, on peut alors enlever la butée 4 afin de changer le corps en céramique 1 ainsi que le mat 2. On peut également régler la position longitudinale de la butée 4 dans le boîtier 3.Then, the seal 6 can then be removed. According to the invention, the threaded adjustment ring 5 advantageously comprises a plurality of recesses 5.1 (Figure 2, Figure 3) configured to allow the passage 10 of a not shown screwing tool. Thanks to the screwing tool, it is then possible to remove the stop 4 in order to change the ceramic body 1 and the mat 2. It is also possible to adjust the longitudinal position of the stop 4 in the housing 3.
15 La présente invention n'est pas limitée au mode de réalisation précédemment décrit : la butée 4 peut ne pas être maintenue par la bague de réglage filetée 5 mais par exemple par une bague munie de moyens exerçant une force de rappel vers la butée 4.The present invention is not limited to the embodiment previously described: the stop 4 may not be maintained by the threaded adjustment ring 5 but for example by a ring provided with means exerting a restoring force towards the stop 4.
20 L'invention peut être mise en oeuvre dans un pot catalytique. 6 The invention can be implemented in a catalytic converter. 6
