Abstract
Description
De plus, il n'y a plus d'accumulation d'électricité statique et donc de décharges avec les dommages qu'elles peuvent occasionner au patient et à son environnement. electromagnetic and / or electrostatic disturbances affecting equipment capable of using an electrical signal collected with electrodes on patients treated in a medical facility with equipment for circulating the blood or an infusion fluid using devices comprising pumps that may be pebbles and / or materials that produce pests. The invention also protects the patient and his environment from static electricity discharges. In the case of Extra Circulatory Circulation (ECC) in cardiac surgery for example the single-use material in which the blood circulates is delivered sterile and mounted on a console of CEC. It consists of elements (venous reservoir, heat exchanger, oxygenator, filters) and tubes inserted into the roller pumps. In the middle of an operating procedure blood circulates in these pipes and these elements. Under certain conditions appears on the electrocardiographic (s) and / or electroencephalographic (s) and / or electromyographic (s) of the patient parasites having a frequency in relation to the rotation of the rollers or vibrations it causes. The deterioration of electrical signals is not suppressed by electronic filters used in hospitals. As a result, surveillance, diagnostics and medical treatment suffer. The device according to my invention makes it possible to eliminate these interferences and to restore the quality necessary for the electrocardiographic signal to allow adequate monitoring and treatment by enabling the equipment that uses the electrocardiographic signal to function properly, such as monitors and counter-drive balloons. intra-aortic, 5 pacemaker, semi-automatic defibrillators; But also to any other signal collected with the aid of electrodes on the patient such as the electroencephalograph and the electromyograph used in the bispectral analysis to evaluate the depth of the anesthesia for example. In addition, there is more accumulation of static electricity and therefore discharges with the damage they can cause to the patient and his environment.
To achieve this, my invention lies in the creation of a connection by an electrical conductor with a resistance greater than 20,000 ohms between the blood and the ground or earth. Allowing electrical flow of the only parasites of the patient's blood to the earth or mass. According to particular embodiments: The difficulty is to put the electrical conductor in contact with the blood, without breaking the barrier of sterility. To achieve this I use, in the context of CEC 25 in particular, access that is provided to me by the well for the temperature sensor type YSI 400 (thermistor). This trick is fundamental: the well being made of metallic material, for reasons of thermal conduction, the area in contact with the blood is always sterile since it is integral with the disposable circuit. It is therefore an electrical contact that is made and not a direct contact. Any other metallic part in contact with the blood might be suitable. But it is universally widespread and does not require modification.
The other end of the electrical conductor is connected by means of a clamp or a connection to the ground either on the metal frame of the machine in question, or directly on the mass of the electrical network. In this way the deworming is optimal, but in order to protect the patient, the conductor will be equipped with a protection device, namely one or more resistors connected in series or in parallel, the sum of the resistances of which is greater than 20,000 ohms.
By way of non-limiting example in the case of the Extra-corporeal Circulation (ECC) of blood: the conductor will be an insulated copper wire on which two resistors in series of 15,000 ohms each have been inserted and of which the The stripped end of the wire will be slid into the temperature sensor well generally located at the venous inlet of the cardiotomy reservoir or the oxygenator and intended to receive a YSI type temperature probe. A variant, providing better support and electrical connection, consists of attaching at the end of the wire a banana plug or a metal rod ensuring electrical contact by its dimensions and immobilized in the well by a bayonet identical to that of a YSI 400 probe, that is to say adapted to the well. while the other end, also stripped, will be brought into contact with the hunt by means of forceps or any other fixation or connected directly to the ground of the hospital quality network. It should be noted that the older generation CEC consoles were provided with projecting studs for receiving a cable for providing the equipotential bond with the ground when the connection to the network did not allow it. The device according to the invention is particularly intended to eliminate the electrostatic interference or parasites generated by the roller pumps. It allows 2909003 4 to suppress the build up and discharge of electrostatic charges blurring the electrocardiogram (ECG), electroencephalogram (EEG) or other devices using the trace collected using skin-bonded electrodes patient in a medical environment such as electromyogram (EMG). In addition, it is possible to add a measuring device such as a voltmeter, an amperemeter, an ohmmeter or an oscilloscope to verify the quality of the connection 10 but also the nature of the parasites removed. The interest of this protected connection (by resistances for example) between the earth and the liquid circulating in containers of variable nature themselves inserted on consoles, is to remove the adverse consequences coming not only from the apparatus taken in isolation but in interaction with the devices that are attached to it. The parasites are generated at the various interfaces between the elements: - rollers of a pump and plastic tube, 20 belt of synthetic material (for pump motors for example), - friction of the tubes and / or the different parts between them or against other elements. These parasites, of course, affect the elements making electrical measurements on the elements traversed by the liquid that propagates them. In the case of blood, while the patient receiving treatment requiring the use of equipment generating and / or propagating parasites, certain equipment, particularly those collecting electrical signals, are affected. Since the patient has no legal right, for his own protection, to be directly connected to the earth, it is imperative to resort to a process which ensures contact between the blood and the earth without risking turning the patient into a fuse. at a strong resistance 2909003 5 electric solves this problem. On the other hand, the area of contact with the blood should also be chosen with care. A sterile metal part which is close to the production of parasites, such as the temperature measuring well, is suitable for the CEC. This is practical in that the deworming technique is directly applicable without modifying existing and commonly used equipment. This method thus guarantees the patient's safety with respect to sterility and electrical risk and allows good medical supervision and treatment with equipment whose operation is no longer impeded by electrical noise. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for use in a medical environment.
