Abstract
Description
1 La présente invention a pour objet une matière plastique pour laThe subject of the present invention is a plastics material for
In the field of the food industry, it is relatively usual to use equipment for the treatment and / or production of a food product made of a plastic material; these equipment consist of this material or comprise on their surfaces intended to come into contact with food products, a coating constituted by said material.
During the processing and / or production of a food product, larger or smaller fragments may be accidentally torn off the surface of the aforementioned equipment; in this case, these fragments (or chips) are found in the finished food product.
Such a situation obviously has a particularly disastrous effect on the image of the company that markets the food product contaminated by these chips. The problem to be solved by the present invention is therefore to detect, in the finished food product, any trace of foreign material from the material constituting the equipment used for the treatment and / or manufacture of said food product. For this purpose, it is proposed according to the invention, a plastic material as defined in the first paragraph of this description; this material comprises a thermoplastic polymer and is characterized in that it further comprises a particulate additive capable of disturbing a magnetic field, the mixture of said polymer and this additive being suitable for food contact. It will be understood that because of the presence of said additive within the plastic material according to the invention, it will be easily possible to detect in a processed food product and / or produced by means of equipment made of this material or comprising a coating in this matter, the presence in this food product of any chips accidentally torn from the surface of said equipment or coating. It will suffice to pass the food product in a magnetic field and detect a possible disturbance 2908778 2 thereof; any food product contaminated by a chip is thus easily spotted with a view to its elimination from the production line. According to one embodiment of the invention, the thermoplastic polymer and the additive are both suitable for food contact. According to another embodiment, only the thermoplastic polymer is suitable for food contact, the additive being such that the mixture of this polymer and this additive does not release any toxic substance beyond a limit value below which mixture is suitable for food contact. This limit value is generally defined by the regulations in force in the field of food products.
Furthermore, the additive in question may be an electrically conductive substance. Thus, it may for example be a metal such as iron, steel, nickel or aluminum. This additive may alternatively be a metal oxide, especially an iron oxide, for example Fe2O3 or Fe3O4. The particles of the additive preferably have a size in the range of 0.1 to 0.5 mm. Moreover, this same additive is preferably present in the plastic material according to the invention in a concentration of 2 to 55% by weight. This concentration will depend on the size of the chip. The polymer used in the composition of the plastics material according to the invention is advantageously chosen from the group consisting of a polyolefin (for example a polypropylene), a polyamide (for example polyamide 6), a polyester, a polyoxymethylene, a polyetheretherketone, a polysulfone and mixtures thereof. The plastic material according to the invention is obtained by simply hot kneading of the thermoplastic polymer in the molten state with the particulate additive, this mixing being carried out so as to obtain a substantially uniform product.
2908778 3 Un exemple de la matière plastique selon l'invention comprend un mélange uniforme de polypropylène et d'oxyde de fer Fe2O3, la proportion en poids de ce dernier dans la matière plastique étant de l'ordre de 30%.An example of the plastic material according to the invention comprises a uniform mixture of polypropylene and iron oxide Fe 2 O 3, the proportion by weight of the latter in the plastic being of the order of 30%.
It will be added that the detection of a disturbance of the magnetic field can be carried out by any known device. As an example, metal detectors with a magnetic loop. These detectors operate by exploiting a well known physical phenomenon: the induction of an electromagnetic current. They consist of a transmitter coil and a receiver coil; the first is traversed by an alternating electric current preferably having a frequency of 500 to 800 kHz and a receiver coil which recovers the induced current, which results in a phase shift which is analyzed by a processor. It will be noted by way of illustration that the latter type of detector allows the detection of a chip of lmm3 of the plastic material according to the invention within a soft cheese, camembert type.
The detector is advantageously positioned, for example at a suitable point of a production line, so that the magnetic field it generates is traversed by the food products to be tested, the speed of passage being chosen for optimum detection.
The present invention also extends to equipment for the treatment and / or production of a food product, made of the aforementioned plastic material or whose surfaces intended to come into contact with said food product comprise a coating of this material. .
It should be noted that this equipment may be of any kind and in particular, when it comes under the field of dairy products and in particular cheese, vats, molds and cheese blocks, basins and micro-ponds coagulation, blinds d ' drip or refining, molding or drip trays, 35 ripening boards and baskets, base stands, slicing blades, fishplates, identification plates, casting ladles, squeegees and plates sterilization.
It will be added that this equipment can be obtained by conventional extrusion and injection techniques.
