Abstract
L'extenseur de mémoire universel est un dispositif visant à fournir à un appareil numérique un système évolutif de mémoire supplémentaire, même lorsque le constructeur ne lui a pas prévu cette faculté. Il est constitué d'un lecteur de cartes flash miniaturisé (1) possédant un orifice (2) pour introduire une carte flash, un port de connexion (3), une led (4) pour indiquer son bon fonctionnement (pas essentielle à notre dispositif), un emplacement (5) pour pile ou batterie (pas essentiel à notre dispositif). Ce lecteur sera couplé à un connecteur (6) (ou un câble) visant à le connecter à tout appareil numérique (7) (la nature du connecteur / câble, de leurs prises variera en fonction du port de connexion de l'appareil numérique concemé (8) tout comme celui du lecteur de cartes (3) ; un connecteur / câble universel pourrait également être proposé prenant en compte les plus importants standards du marché). Un ou plusieurs logiciels sera(ont) fourni (s) pour assurer la reconnaissance (et la compatibilité totale) de notre dispositif par l'appareil numérique et vice et versa. Ainsi, une fois connecté notre dispositif sera reconnu comme une mémoire additionnelle où le système propre de l'appareil numérique ira chercher les informations dont il aura besoin. Le dispositif selon l'invention est particulièrement destiné aux appareils numériques mobiles (lecteurs MP3... ) car sa conception particulièrement miniaturisée lui assure une mobilité extrême.The universal memory expander is a device for providing a digital device with an expandable system of additional memory, even when the manufacturer has not provided this facility. Notre dispositif pourra permettre dans ce cas d'obtenir un dispositif qui unifiera le format des consommables entre plusieurs appareils numériques réduisant ainsi le coût de ces consommables (cartes flash) tout en facilitant le transfert de données d'un appareil numérique à un autre. De nombreux autres appareils numériques notamment mobiles ne possèdent pas de système 10 propre d'extension de mémoire ni de périphérique compatible susceptible de lui donner cette fonction. Le dispositif selon l'invention permet de pallier ces inconvénients. Il comporte en effet un lecteur de cartes flash miniaturisé (tous les formats sont envisageables y compris un système multiformats ; par ailleurs une variante de notre dispositif pourrait être de remplacer notre lecteur de carte par un 15 disque dur (plusieurs formats et capacités envisageables) ou tout autre appareil de stockage connus ou à venir) couplé à un connecteur (une variante possible serait un câble) visant à le connecter à tout appareil numérique (la nature du connecteur ou du câble et de leurs prises variera donc en fonction de l'appareil numérique concerné tout comme donc le système d'entrée du lecteur de cartes ; un connecteur / câble universel pourrait également être proposé selon les plus 20 importants standards du marché). Un ou plusieurs logiciels sera(ont) fourni (s) pour assurer la reconnaissance (et la compatibilité totale) de notre dispositif par l'appareil numérique et vice et versa. Ainsi, une fois connecté notre dispositif sera reconnu comme une mémoire additionnelle où le système propre de l'appareil numérique ira chercher les informations dont il aura besoin. Le lecteur sera auto-alimenté par l'appareil numérique (une alimentation par pile ou batterie 25 pourrait cependant être envisagée). Une led indiquera le bon fonctionnement du lecteur (n'étant pas essentielle, elle pourrait ne pas figurer dans les modèles commercialisés). Selon un mode de réalisation particulier, le lecteur de cartes flash sera miniaturisé à l'extrême comprenant un circuit imprimé de taille inférieure ou égale à la carte flash. Le(s) logiciel(s) 30 permettront selon un mode de réalisation particulier d'indiquer au logiciel ou firmware de l'appareil numérique de rechercher les informations non plus simplement sur la mémoire incorporée initialement dédiée mais également sur celle résidant sur notre lecteur de cartes flash. Le dessin annexé illustre l'invention.
