Abstract

The table has two isostatic devices stably resting on a left surface with a parallel displacement of four legs (A-D), and placed on parallel planes. The legs are fixed on two opposite rods of a frame of an upper isostatic system, where the table`s horizontal adjustment is performed by two operations. One operation is performed by installing a level on the table, where the level is oriented along a direction (u), and adjusting heights of two legs (A, C), and another operation is performed by installing the level that is oriented along a direction (v) and adjusting heights of the legs (B, D).

Ce dispositif utilise entre autres la propriété géométrique suivante (Figure 1) : Soit un quadrilatère ABCD déformable dans le plan et dans l'espace de façon à former une surface gauche constituée de deux triangles ABD et DBC . Si on trace deux droites HE et GF parallèles à la diagonale DB du quadrilatère, ces deux droites seront toujours située dans un même plan quelle que soit la déformation du quadrilatère. Cette propriété permet de relier une surface plane HEGF à une surface gauche ABCD.
