Abstract

The device has a metallic ballast fastened on the terminals of branches of a spectacle frame, behind the pivot which forms the upper part of the pinna of the ears, or placed inside a fixed or interchangeable composite sleeve. The sleeve covers the terminals of the branches. The ballast has a length of about 3 to 4 centimeters, and weighs about 3 to 10 grams.

Description

The repeated and rapid movements of the head cause the optical glasses to move downwards because, in spite of the lightening of the current glasses and frames, the weight exerted on the nasal pyramid, at the level of the platelets, is not compensated. However, maintaining the positioning of the frame, after static adaptation by the optician, is critical in the quality of the optical correction, particularly with lenses with variable focus.

The proposed invention improves the maintenance of the positioning of the frame and glasses on the nose by decreasing their progressive sliding on the nasal pyramid.

The principle is to ballast the terminals of branches of frames, that is to say each end of the two branches located behind the ears. This weighting causes a mechanical moment opposite to that of the weight of the glasses and the part of the frame circling the lenses, relative to the pivot, located at the level of the upper part of the flag of the ear. In addition, the support force at the level of the pads on the nose is reduced, and comfort increased.

The ballast can be introduced directly during the design of the branch terminals or grafted in the form of sleeves on existing frames. By way of non-limiting example, the ballast is most often between 3 and 10 grams at each branch of the frame or each sleeve.

The embodiment of this ballast can be envisaged in two ways: 1) A first modality consists in crimping a metal part on the terminals of the branches situated behind the ears. A usual plastic sleeve then covers, as usual, the terminals of each branch, a section increase is the only visible change resulting.

2) A second modality is to set up, on a usual mount, a weighted composite sleeve. It consists of a plastic sleeve inside which is inserted during the molding a metal piece about 3 to 4 centimeters long, and whose section is based on the appropriate weight included, but not limited to, between 3 and 10 grams. It is fitted, like all sleeves, and can therefore be interchangeable. It allows a fine adjustment, depending on the frame, but also the morphology of the face of the paired subject.

This device is particularly indicated for the subjects having a work involving repeated movements of the cephalic segment, sports activities, and whenever there is a hyper sweating of the face, which generates a large slip of the usual frames.
