Abstract

The device has tubes (2) that form a connection between a strap (1) which surrounds the leg of a skier and an attachment point. The point is constituted by a bolt (3) and a drilled plate (4) which is screwed down on the front half of a ski (5). The tubes are articulated or flexible, for adapting to the length of the leg of the skier. The plate has notches one of which is selected for adjusting the inclination of a tibia.

The problem posed by ski touring comes from the fact that the qualities

  Required shoes are contradictory for the descent (being rigid) and for the climb (being light, not too hot, comfortable and flexible).

  The present invention is a removable device for adjusting the tibia inclination, which allows the skier to use walking shoes ideal for the climbing effort, while being able to benefit from a rigid position during the descent.

  The skier thus has access to a wide choice of cramponable walking shoes, adapted to its morphology, and compatible with certain bindings of ski touring.

  Walking shoes are inexpensive because of great diffusion.

  They are less hot than ski boots, which limits perspiration and the formation of blisters.

  Their comfort and flexibility make it possible to lengthen the pitch and adjust the climbing wedges less often, which saves time and energy.

  The weight gain of 1 to 2 kg made on shoes, is much higher than the weight of the invention, which is about 500 grams (in pairs) with high performance materials (aluminum and glued carbon fiber tubes).

  The inclination of the tibia can be adjusted by choosing one of the five holes of the plate (4).

  The adjustment of the inclination can be extended to an unlimited number of positions, or replaced by any other attachment principle to vary the position of the attachment point relative to the ski.

  The adjustment can also be obtained by a rigid connection (2) changeable in length (for example telescopic tubes screwed or lockable by lugs or not expansion screws).

  The device according to the invention is particularly intended for ski touring, but it can also be used for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, telemark, snowboarding, and generally for any activity requiring a precise and rigid positioning of the shins. - 3 -
