Abstract

The invention relates to a method of preparing an absorbent, hydrophobic and oleophilic material. The inventive method consists in: (a) using an intermediary synthetic product based on balls having an inner alveolar structure which is open, (b) using an impregnation product which increases absorbing power, (c) spraying the impregnation product in order to coat the faces of the alveolar structures, (d) controlling the temperature, pressure and flow of the impregnation product during step (c), and (e) drying the absorbent material thus obtained.
