Abstract

The multiband frequency antenna has a photonic band gap material (142) having a band gap and one singe periodicity defect (156) of the band gap material to produce several narrow bandwidths within a band gap. There is an excitation device (160,162) which transmits and receives electromagnetic waves within narrow bandwidths. The excitation mechanism can work simultaneously in two work bands.
