Abstract

The motor vehicle gearbox (4) shift control has sensors (20,24,26) for vehicle operating parameters and a computer (12) to analyze the parameter data. The computer analyses driver gear shift input to determine a shift movement accuracy in regard to the operating conditions and select an optimum ratio. The computer establishes a correction parameter between the actual and required transmission shift and corrects downshift movement.
