Abstract

The procedure involves receiving a fax data set and transmitting another set to receiver equipment. Respective time stamping capsules (C, C) are generated with data relating to dispatch start and end of a message to the equipment. A third set is transmitted to sender equipment. A single transaction indexed by a sequence number and pertaining to the data sets received by the receiver and sender equipments is saved. An Independent claim is also included for an authentication system of a message transmitted by fax via a PSTN.
