Abstract

A fixing accessory (30) is positioned to the right of the wire way base's (10) fixing hole (18) and fixed to the support by means of a tool (40) which drives a fixing part (50) through the accessory and the fixing hole. Each article fixing hole is sealed by a plug (20) which can be removed and the fixing accessory is positioned on the plug so that during fixing the accessory the fixing part passes through the plug to be anchored on the support. Independent claims are included for a wire way base, a fixing accessory and a system comprising a wire way base.

 The present invention relates first of all to a method for fixing an article to a support, said article having at least one fixing hole, method according to which a fixing accessory is positioned in line with said fixing hole of said article and fixes this fixing accessory to the support using a tool which propels a fixing member through said fixing accessory and said fixing hole to anchor it in said support.

 Particularly already known from document FR 2 800 813 is a method of the aforementioned type according to which a fixing accessory is used which comprises a projecting damping stud intended to be introduced into said fixing hole of the article so as to position correctly the fixing accessory relative to the fixing hole.

 According to this document, the fixing accessory comprises a hole for the passage of the fixing member which also extends through the damping stud. When fired by the corresponding tool, this compressible damping pin crashes against the support under the action of the fixing member, thereby absorbing the shock.

 However, such a method has as main drawback the fact of using an article which comprises in advance at least one fixing hole and, in practice, a plurality of fixing holes spaced longitudinally from each other, which harms the insulation of said article at the unused fixing holes and which leads to exclude this article from certain applications which require perfect insulation.

 In particular, when the article in question, used according to the method described above, is a trunking base, such a base cannot be used to house electrical conductors with simple insulation.

 This is why, for such applications, trunking bases with solid bottoms are more commonly used, provided that the installer can make the holes by themselves, in situ, in such a base. fixing required.

 The fixing of such a trough base with a full bottom is inevitably complicated all the more.

 To remedy the drawbacks of the aforementioned prior art, the present invention proposes a new process of the type defined in the introduction,

 characterized in that an article is used in which each fixing hole is closed by a plug which can be eliminated and which in itself constitutes a means of locating said fixing hole, and in that said position fixing accessory on said plug so that, when fixing said fixing accessory, the fixing member passes through said plug to anchor in the support.

 According to a particularly advantageous characteristic of the fixing method according to the invention, each plug forming a projection on a face of said article opposite to that applied to the support, during positioning of the fixing accessory, the reception means are made to cooperate in abutment of said fixing accessory with said projection, this abutment corresponding to the centering of said fixing accessory on the axis of said fixing hole of said article.

 Preferably, said means for receiving the fixing accessory comprising a housing open laterally, according to the method according to the invention, said fixing accessory is moved in translation along said article so as to laterally engage said projection in said housing until that it is placed in abutment against the bottom of the latter located opposite its lateral opening.

 Thus, a user can blindly position the fixing accessory in abutment on a projection of the article to be fixed and, at the same time, correctly center the fixing accessory on the axis of the corresponding fixing hole of said article.

 The fixing of this article by the user is therefore greatly simplified and can be carried out quickly.

 The invention also relates to a trunking base comprising a bottom, by which it is suitable for being applied to a support, and which has at least one fixing hole closed by a plug capable of being eliminated.

 Such a trunking base, comprising a bottom with fixing hole closed by a plug, is in particular described in the document FR 2 785 731 belonging to the applicant.

 However, according to this document, the installer must release the fixing holes he needs, by eliminating from these fixing holes the plug which closes them, which, in practice, can be ensured using any tool

 current, for example using a screwdriver, to fix the trunking base to any support using standard fasteners of the screw or dowel type.

 Compared with the aforementioned state of the art, advantageously, according to the invention, the trough base is characterized in that, for the implementation of the aforementioned method according to the invention, said plug forms a projection on the face internal bottom of the base.

 Thus, advantageously, according to the invention, the plug, closing each fixing hole provided in the bottom of the trunking base, forms a projection which constitutes a mark for positioning the fixing accessory on the corresponding fixing hole, and stays in place when fixing the base to the support. From the point of view of insulation, everything therefore happens as if the trunking base was a solid base.

 In addition, from an aesthetic point of view, the trunking base according to the invention does not reveal any visible hole from the outside.

 From the electrical point of view, the trunking base according to the invention makes it possible to accept all kinds of cables or electrical conductors, in particular those comprising simple insulation.

 Advantageously, the chute base is produced by extruding a plastic material, and the fixing hole made in the latter is produced by a punching process so that the plug comes to form with said base.

 In this case, each plug of the trunking base according to the invention extends back from the external surface of its bottom.

 Other non-limiting and advantageous characteristics of the trunking base according to the invention are the following: - the projection formed by each plug is arranged so as to cooperate with means for receiving a fixing accessory comprising a bore for the passage a fixing member propelled by a tool in order to center the axis of said bore on the axis of said fixing hole closed by said plug; - The projection formed by each plug has an oblong outline;

 The invention also relates to a fixing accessory comprising a hole intended to be traversed by a fixing member propelled by a tool and, overhanging with respect to its drilling, fitting means capable of enabling said accessory to be brought forward. attachment to the nose of said tool.

 Such a fixing accessory is described in particular in document FR 2 786 541 belonging to the applicant.

 Compared to the aforementioned prior art, the originality of the fixing accessory according to the invention comes from the fact that, for the implementation of the method according to the invention stated in the introduction, it has, below said drilling, receiving means intended to cooperate in abutment with a projection formed on one face of an article to be fixed on a support.

 In FIGS. 1 to 4, there is shown a trough base 10 with a U-shaped cross section with two longitudinal lateral wings 12 which rise perpendicularly from a bottom 11.

 Each longitudinal side flange 12 carries at the top a right-angled return 13 in which a longitudinal groove is formed 14. On the inner side of each longitudinal groove 14, there is provided a longitudinal bead 15 which extends below each longitudinal groove 14 by a longitudinal heel 16.

 The longitudinal grooves 14, the longitudinal beads 15 and the longitudinal heels 16 allow, in a conventional manner, the mounting of a section of closure cover on the trough base 10.

 The trunking base 10 may also have in its bottom 11 two rows of fixing holes 18, in one of said rows the holes having a longitudinal direction oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of said trough base 10, and in the other of said rows the fixing holes 18 having a longitudinal direction oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis X of said trough base 10.

 Preferably, the fixing holes 18 of the same row are placed at a regular pitch.

 Of course, according to another embodiment, it can also be provided that the fixing holes 18 have a circular outline.

 Each fixing hole 18 is closed by a plug 20 capable of being eliminated therefrom.

 Advantageously, according to the invention, each plug 20 forms a projection on the internal face 11a from the bottom 11 of the trough base 10.

 The chute base 10 is advantageously produced by extruding a plastic material and then subjected to a punching operation for the production of each fixing hole 18 closed by a plug 20, so that each plug 20 comes to form with the base of chute 10.

 Consequently, each plug 20, forming a projection on the internal face 11 a of the bottom 11 of the trough base 10, extends back from the external face 11 b of the bottom 11 of said base 10.

 The projection formed by each plug 20 is arranged so as to cooperate with means 35 for receiving a fixing accessory 30 shown in detail in FIGS. 5 to 8.

 Here, each plug 20 follows the shape of each fixing hole 18 and therefore has an oblong outline.

 The projection formed by the plug 20 of the first fixing hole 18 is then oriented so that its long length a extends transversely to the longitudinal axis X of said base 10, while the projection formed by the plug 20 of the second fixing hole attachment 18 is oriented so that its great length a extends parallel to the longitudinal axis X of said base 10 (see Figure 4).

 We will now describe, more particularly with reference to FIGS. 5 to 8, the fixing accessory 30 specially adapted to cooperate with each projection formed by each plug 20 on the internal face 11a from the bottom 11 of the trunking base 10.

 This fixing accessory 30 comprises a body 31 crossed by a bore 32 which opens on one side by a flared part 32a in the form of a cup for receiving a head of a fixing member 50 passing through said bore 32. Indeed , this bore 32 is intended to be traversed by a fixing member 50 propelled by a tool 40 (see Figures 2 and 3).

 Overhanging with respect to its bore 32, the fixing accessory 30 comprises fitting means capable of allowing said fixing accessory 30 to be brought in advance onto the nose of said tool 40 (see FIG. 2).

 Here, these interlocking means comprise tongues 34 which extend cantilevered with respect to lugs 33 which rise above said bore 32 from the body 31, parallel to the axis of the bore 32.

 These interlocking means being well known in themselves and not, strictly speaking, part of the invention, they will not be described here in more detail.

 Advantageously, the fixing accessory 30 comprises, below said bore 32, that is to say opposite of the fitting means 34, receiving means 35 intended to cooperate in abutment with each projection formed by each plug 20 on the internal face 11 a of the trough base 10 intended to be fixed on a support.

 As shown more particularly in FIG. 8, these receiving means comprise a housing 35 whose contours are adapted to those of the projection formed by each plug 20.

 Here, said housing 35 has a generally U-shaped longitudinal section with an inlet 35a and, opposite the inlet 35a, a bottom 35b.

 The housing 35 comprises, from its entry, two edges 35c facing substantially parallel. These facing edges 35c converge towards one another near the bottom 35b of the housing 35 to each form a tip 35e and, above the tip 35e, a receiving cradle 35f of each projection formed by each plug 20 (see figure 4).

 At its entry 35a, the edges 35c of the housing 35 diverge to form an engagement ramp 35'c of each projection in the housing 35.

 Advantageously, the width 11 of the housing 35 taken between its parallel edges 35c (that is to say taken upstream of the tips 35e) is substantially identical to the long length a of each projection formed by each plug 20 so that said edges 35c parallel to said housing 35 form slides capable of cooperating with the peripheral edge 21 of the projection formed by each plug 20, oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis X, and which engages in the housing 35 via said inlet 35a.

 Thus, advantageously, the housing 35 of the fixing accessory 30 can cooperate with a projection extending transversely to the longitudinal axis X of the trunking base 10 and a protrusion extending along the longitudinal axis X of the trunking base 10.

 When the projection extends transversely to the longitudinal axis X of the chute base 10, the edges 35c opposite the housing 35 slide on the peripheral edge 21 of the projection until it comes to wedge in the cradle receiving 35f formed by said edges 35c opposite the housing 35.

 In this position, shown on the left in FIG. 4, the axis of the bore 32 of the fixing accessory 30 is centered on the axis of the fixing hole 18 closed by the corresponding plug 20.

 When the projection formed by the plug 20 extends longitudinally along the longitudinal axis X of the chute base (see the projection shown on the right in FIG. 4), the fixing accessory is engaged on the projection so that it is wedged in the bottom 35b of the housing 35 of the fixing accessory by cooperating with the notch 35d.

 In this position, the axis of the bore 32 of the fixing accessory is centered on the axis of the fixing hole 18 closed by the corresponding plug 20.

 The trunking base 10 shown in the figures and the fixing accessory 30 shown in the figures form a system in which the fixing accessory allows the trunking base to be fixed to any wall.

 Advantageously, the method for fixing the trough base to a support is as follows.

 The fixing accessory 30 is attached to the nose of a tool 40 capable of propelling a fixing member 50.

 The assembly is positioned on the internal face 11a of the bottom 11 of the chute base 10 so that the fixing accessory 30 rests on this internal face 11a, and the external tongue 36 of the latter comes into abutment by its edge free end 36a against a longitudinal rib 17 of the trough base 10.

 The tool 40 provided with the fixing accessory 30 is then translated along the longitudinal axis X of the trunking base 10 until it meets a projection formed by a plug 20 closing a fixing hole 18 formed in the bottom 11 of base 10.

 The projection 20 encountered by the fixing accessory 30 engages in the housing 35, via its lateral opening 35a, and is placed in abutment against the latter.

 The plug 20 then constitutes by itself a means of locating the fixing hole 18 for positioning the tool 40 provided with the fixing accessory 30.

 In the aforementioned position, shown more particularly in FIG. 2, the bore 32 of the fixing accessory 30 as well as the tool 40 carrying the fixing member 50 are centered on the axis of the fixing hole 18.

 It then suffices to actuate the tool 40 so that the fixing member 50 is propelled through the bore 32 of the fixing accessory 30 and

 crosses the plug 20 to anchor itself in the support on which the trough base 10 must be attached.

 The fixing member 50 propelled by the tool causes a certain crushing of the body 31 of the fixing accessory 30 and a displacement of the plug 20 along the axis y of the fixing hole 18, so that it sinks in said fixing hole 18 until it comes to stop against said touching support of the external face 11b of the trough base 10.

 The plug 20 and the body 31 of the fixing accessory 30 advantageously form damping means for the fixing member 50 propelled through them, which makes it possible to avoid a bursting of the bottom 11 of the trough base 10 during of its attachment to a support.

 Of course, if the user decides to screw the trough base onto a wall, he can eliminate the plugs 20 from the fixing holes 18 used to screw the corresponding screws through them.

 To this end, it is advantageous for the trunking base 10 to have, at its bottom, oblong fixing holes 18 arranged perpendicularly to one another so as to be able to level the trough base on a wall.

 It should be noted that the plug 20 closing a hole has sufficient hold in this fixing hole so that it remains in place therein during transport and / or subsequent handling of the trough base 10, despite the inevitable shocks to which it is subject.

 Although the trunking base has facilities for being fixed to a wall, from the point of view of its insulation, everything happens as if it had a solid bottom.

 Such a trunking base can therefore be advantageously used to transport all kinds of cables or electrical conductors even electrical conductors with simple insulation.

 The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown, but a person skilled in the art will know how to make any variant which conforms to his spirit.

Claims (23)

1.
