Abstract

Méthodes et systèmes pour diriger des satellites à énergie de propulsion électrique pour les maintenir sur orbite stationnaire. Un dispositif à propulsion électrique (PE) est utilisé pour permettre à un satellite d'effectuer un trajet suivant une orbite terrestre stationnaire prédéterminée. La puissance propulsive et électrique du PE sont réglées pour faire varier la poussée et l'impulsion spécifique du dispositif PE. Un réseau solaire fournit l'énergie électrique pendant chaque cycle d'un jour terrestre avec un excès de puissance au-delà de celle nécessaire par l'engin spatial stockée dans une batterie. Une commande informatique gère la tension, le courant et la durée de fonctionnement pour minimiser la consommation d'énergie de propulsion et l'impact à l'égard du système.
