Abstract
At least radio cover cell (2,3,4) with another base station (12,13,14) occupies position allowing it to cover edge zone (120,130,140) of considered cell (1). Computing system (30) determines cover map for other cells (2,3,4) and it assigns to pixels (34) of respective edge zones, composite inequality probability (Pc) representing the composition of probability (A) linked to emission from station (11) of considered cell and equivalent probability (B) linked to emission from stations (12,13,14). Method for establishing a radio cover map for at least a cell (1) of a cellular radiotelephony network, by means of a computing system (30) containing previously memorized data (32) of the geographic map containing the cell (1) and a base station (11). Previously memorized data gives the base station transmission level (35) and a sensitivity level to radio reception (S0) of a mobile terminal (21) in the cell, as well as radio propagation attenuation (33): (a) The computer (30) forms from map data (32) a map mesh (31) for the cell (1) with a set number (N1) of pixels (34), occupying positions from which it memorizes representative data; by comparing map data (32), specifying the station (11) position and position data for each pixel (34) taking into account attenuation (33), the computer calculates a number (N1) of radio propagation attenuation levels (35) from the station, a number of average reception levels (S1m) associated with pixels (34), that it memorizes (38); the computer compares the memorized average reception levels (S1m) to a sensitivity level (S0) to determine a number of inequality directions between the levels (S0) and (S1m) linked to each pixel and deduces the cell radio cover map. The method is characterized in that: (a) data (37) representing a time fluctuation law (370) for radio propagation attenuation has been made accessible to the computer (30) which applies this law to the number (N1) of average receptions levels (S1m); a corresponding number (N1) of probabilities (P,311) is determined for which the aforementioned inequalities have a set direction, and; a radio cover map is established by linking each pixel (34) with data representing the probability (P,311).
