Abstract

On each upright of the frame there is a hinge (20) consisting of male and female hinge elements (23,24). One of the hinge elements (23) is fixed to the door frame, whilst the other hinge element (24,24') is mounted to turn in the door panel. The hinges may either be active and form a pivot, or inactive and allow that particular side of the door to open. The structure provides a mounting for a door panel on a frame by means of a hinge assembly (18,19). On each upright of the frame there is a hinge (20) comprising a pivot (22) consisting of male and female hinge elements (23,24). One of the hinge elements (23) is fixed in place on one of the uprights of the frame, whilst the other hinge element (24,24') is mounted to turn in the door panel (9), adopting one of two positions. In one position the hinge element is active, co-operating with the fixed hinge element to provide the pivot (22), and in the second position the hinge element is inactive and stands at a distance from the other hinge element (23) allowing separation from the upright, and thus the opening of the door.
