Abstract

The cooled display cabinet for self service restaurant food has a transparent casing (1) to display the food articles, with frontal flaps (2,6) to allow the customers to access the food. The rear panel of the casing slides to allow access by the service staff. The top panel (4) of the casing prevents access to the food from above. A tangential ventilator (5) in the top of the casing allows input of cooled air.

The present invention relates to a cold, neutral, ventilated display case to be placed on self-service refrigerated display cabinets to allow maintenance and improvement of the conservation of culinary preparations at a temperature <+10 C for a minimum of two hours and avoid contamination by external agents.

The presentation of refrigerated foods such as appetizers, desserts, cheeses is usually carried out; either by unpacked refrigerated cabinets with neutral open displays on one or two levels which do not allow maintenance in cold temperature, are open to all contaminating agents and allowing uncontrolled deposition in surplus areas of ambient food; either by identical furniture but with upper display cases with refrigerated shelves which have a higher and annoying noise level in a restaurant room, require an expensive investment and a high energy cost.

The display case according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. According to a first characteristic, it comprises a box placed on top of the display cabinet with opening by folding flaps on the customer side to allow food to be taken in, one by two sliding doors at the rear to allow food to be placed, an inclined roof. to prohibit the removal of unwanted objects in the upper part, a tangential fan in the upper part to distribute the cold produced by the refrigerated disbursement of the display unit.

According to a second characteristic, in a higher box, it includes an intermediate shelf in perforated stainless steel which constitutes a storage drawer for eutectic plates previously cooled and an additional display, the temperature conditions being maintained by the fan.

With reference to these drawings, the invention comprises a closed transparent box (1) with front opening by folding flaps (2) rear opening by sliding walls (3) inclined upper part (4) a tangential fan (5) is placed at the inside at the top.

According to Figure 2 an intermediate shelf (7) is placed in a higher box with a 2nd level of folding shutters (6) which allows to double the presentation surface without increasing the refrigeration capacity of the display cabinet.

The display case according to the invention is particularly intended for presentations of appetizers, desserts, cheeses and drinks in the self-service catering establishments.

 1) Cold, neutral display case, ventilated to maintain, on refrigerated self-service display units, a temperature <+10 C for 2 hours, characterized in that it includes a closed box (1) with fold-down flaps (2) on the customer side two sliding doors (3) on the service side an inclined roof (4). 2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that it comprises in the upper part a tangential fan (5) which tends to stir in the box the cold already produced by the refrigerated disbursed of the display cabinet. 3) Device according to claim 1 or 2 characterized in that it comprises an intermediate shelf (7) with a double stainless steel envelope, perforated which may contain eutectic plates gastronorm or other format previously cooled to negative temperature and a 2nd level of foldable flaps ( 6) placed under the fan. 4) Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that all the partitions or openings are made of transparent material.
